I was on Azure Sky like a lot of people and it was a surprise to me as well when Wrondown took the sight down. It was not a surprise however when he started making a lot of drastic changes. Just in talking to him you could tell that he wanted to make the game more like the retail version of FFXI. The problem that I had was when he said that he would let the players decide how he was going to make the final changes to the new gil and crafting system. When the majority of players wanted to leave things the way that they were, I guess that he did not like that because the very next day he bared everyone from the site. Again this is his site and he has the right to do just what he wants however to raise the exact same sit with what you wanted to do in the first place is just wrong. No disrespect to Lethalia, but I said to myself that if Worn ever dropped everyone’s lvl to 1 I would quit and that is exactly what he did. There are a lot of people that put a lot of time into gaining their lvls and equipment and just to take it all away because you wanted to is just wrong. I will not be returning to Azure Sky. I hope that the others that do have fun…Doing the exact same thing all over again. I for one have better ways to waste my time.

To say that having free access to a game and having you're stuff taken away is not right is a ignorant view. It's completely correct that an owner of a server can do what they please with their own server. Whether you like it or not is up to you. You just didn't like the fact that the situation happened. Therefore you quit. You choose to put your time into things, not anyone else. So even if you did waste your time, it was your own fault. Writing that post was a pointless vent that you let out...

When Worndown shut down Azure Sky it wasn't a decision based on a whim. It was a very well thought out decision based on his discussions with myself and others that are his real life friends. Do you know who his friends are? We are the people that don't take his kindness as weakness. We are the people that don't take his offerings and the things he does for us for granted.

Are you one of those people? Apparently not. See, As one of worndown's personal friends I don't take him for granted. I don't take his kindness as weakness. But, I saw what others did to him on the Azure Sky server. He busted his ass on Azure Sky and a lot of people shat on him regardless of his work. Fortunately, I am one of those people that knows what he has done for me and our friends in our real lives. I am one of those people that knows what he has done for this community when he has asked for NOTHING from anyone and too many people treated him like shit for it. Well done.

Now, Worndown isn't hosting this server, I am. It's a new day and a new beginning. I asked worn for the database so that people would not have to start over but he has moral (and potential legal) issues with releasing a database that has everyone's information who has ever connected to the old AS server. Such as their IP, Login and a password. He wasn't comfortable releasing that and I personally APPLAUD him for keeping your best interest in mind by not giving that information out. To this day he holds the community that was Azure Sky to his heart and you should be thankful for that. In my opinion, he would not be a good host if he just gave anyone, regardless of who it is, that information for them to use how ever they wanted. That is like elitepvpers shutting down then giving away their database to some stranger with YOUR information on it, or yahoo, or google.

There are a couple other things I want to address now.

For a person too have spent over 2 months on that server getting multiple jobs to 75 and then to turn around and reboot everything is crazy.

See the part where Worndown won't release your information above. Also try to think about it this way: You spent 2mos, on a free server, with 5x experience point rate, 5x drop rate and a mediocre signet party could chain 100 for 10,000 xp per kill. 90mil gil and the ability to buy any gear you wanted. You earned nothing! Worn gave you everything and you didn't have to work for crap. In another sense you didn't obtain anything you could be proud of. Yea, you go on retail and say "I got level 75 with 10jobs, I got 90mil for just signing up, I got all the gear I wanted to buy for cheap as well" and see how they laugh at you. Original pre-abyssea players will laugh at you because they know you earned nothing and had everything handed to you. Minus the 2-3 days to get to 75 for any job using /dnc.

What I am upset about is the fact that Worn did not live up to his word. He said that he would leave it up to the players to decide how he was going to handle the gil and the crafting system (correct me if I’m wrong)

Worndown never said he would leave that 100% up to the community. In the Azure Sky threads he said that he would watch over the the vote and it may help him make a decision. That was before he found out about the other circumstances that actually led to the shut down. It had nothing to do with that vote. So now you are corrected.

Worndown gave people the opportunity to obtain everything and people shat on him for it just like you are still doing now. Again, well done.

PS: If you have something to say about Worndown then take it to him personally. If you have a problem with Worndown shutting down Azure Sky then don't blame him, he shut it down because of a lot of the people. Blame them for taking him for granted and screwing it up for you. (if you played legit!)

Well, if you wanted to say all of this to worndown then WHY oh WHY are you saying all of this to me instead of him? For the life of me I don't know why you involved me or my server in any of this. You are correct, you have the right to say what you want. But **** it man, say it to the right person instead of involving an innocent person, such as myself, in the matter. Go take your complaints on with him not me. I'm simply running a FFXI server that is based from the version of the server he mostly built. Nothing more. It is the same thing if I built r1430 and put that up for people to play on. Or The same thing as if I build a Dark Star server and put that up.

Remember I am HOSTING a NEW server that worndown mostly built. I didn't take over Azure Sky, I didn't get the database, I didn't get the source code. Worndown has all of that. I'm a NEW host running a version of Azure Sky.. Nothing more! If you have a problem with worndown not releasing your persona details with me then take that up with him. It is the same as if worndown had released Azure Sky to the public. Think about it, if you would have joined someone elses server you would still have to start over. That is the point you are missing.

Now, if you have a proper and valid issue with the way I run things and the server I am running then I am willing to discuss it further. Otherwise, nothing you have said was relevant to this server and you should simply edit your posts and delete anything and everything that has your thoughts/opinions about worndown and azure sky first. I'll happily do the same and change my posts according to how you re-post yours.

Again, don't bring your problems with other people/servers to me. I don't care and I don't want to hear about it. You are simply complaining to the wrong person.

One of the first things that I said in my original post was “No disrespect to Lethalia”, I really wasn’t even trying to involve you in my complaint but as you said I should have taken it to Worn in the first place. My thinking was that after AS was taken down was that I was upset of course like most people but you can’t really get mad at Worn for that and I didn’t. I became upset because I looked like he had done exactly what I said he did. So if you look at it from my point of view I hope you can understand my tiff. I was not trying to attack you or your server but it seems that that is exactly what I did so for that I do apologize. That was not my intent. Now having said all that, I am still pointing my last question at you. Why stick to the confines of this game and what is already known? Why not branch out into undiscovered country with this game? Again I don’t even know if you are a programmer but the question is still a good one. Have you ever thought about it?

Great, now that we have all that cleared up I can answer those questions that are directed to me and Alpha Zero. The server is only 2 days old at the moment but I do have some plans on changing aspects of the server and that will happen over time. I don't have the source code or coding experience so there won't be any major changes. I don't have much scripting experience either so anything I want to have done I'll have to learn to do first. In the end I'm really just a player that wants to play when I want to like anyone else. I opened up the server to public for anyone that just wanted to play along if they wanted to.

Does not matter if its a week or Months, Time is time and you just told that person that he gained nothing and people would laugh, Then you should shut down this server and keep it private since this server would be a laugh, you built nothing and your acting like a ego *****.


sorry Worndown was a great server host and i have never seen him insult anyone. but this new server wont get far. Hope it dies quicker then you released it. without a good host and leader projects like this will die too quick.

Regarding Leths hosting ability:
- I would not have entrusted lethalia with a copy of the server if I didn't think she would make a good host. To put that in perspective, Leth is the only one I trust enough to host the server. She has plenty of skills and right now she is being quiet about them. She just wants to be a player like everyone else. Why are people attacking her for trying to be nice by letting people play along if they choose to do so? Chas, you blatently insulted her for wanting to be a player first and a host second. Well done, players insulting hosts is a great motivator!

Regarding Chas Insulting the server:
- Answer me this, what have you done for this community that earns any meaning to your rating? What have you done that gives what you say any real meaning? Last I checked you know nothing about hosting, developing or scripting a server. You never lifted a finger to help Azure Sky and now your prancing around like your little 0/10 means shit. Until you actually do something or contribute something then what you say has no weight or meaning to it. Really weak man. I'm very disappointed in you and your ego.

I agree with leth that people never really earned anything on Azure Sky. Excluding maybe the kraken club or ridill. Maybe the rank quests they did but that is all. I'm stretching a bit on kraken club as kirin was about as hard as leaping lizzy. But, spending 2-3 days to get to 75, 90mil, ability to buy just about anything isn't earning anything. That is having it spoon fed to you.

I'm sure most people won't understand this but I'll say it anyways. There is a huge difference between spending time on a server to play, and earning the right to play on a server.

Spending time on a server:
- Logging in and playing when you want, the server host maintains the server, keeps it running while you play. Dark, you fit in this group.

Earning the right to play on a server:
- Helping the host to maintain the server and helping him/her with day to day operations of it. Dark, you do not fit in this group.

hello just want to thank worn and leth to create an excellent server, talves want you to know some people do not appreciate their work but many are like me appreciate if there are many, and simply say thank you! count me in!

I have a suggestion, my bad programming techniques, I believe that creating a guide to help program scripts would be a good idea, since there are many who can not help the servers because they do not know where to begin, as a guide program missions, magic, quest, quest ws, ranks, etc..

Don't think Ill be joining this one though, not much free time anymore and dont really feel like starting over again either heh.

This is most likely the best Private Server out there, so if you want to play FFXI on a private server, this is the way to go.

To those who feel they have a right to rant about getting their accounts wiped and starting over, I have this to say: regardless of what version you play (retail or private), you do not own the data you are using. The one who owns the data is the owner of the data storage unit it resides on, and everyone else is just renting or borrowing it.

That being said, if you really want to "own" your character's data your only option is to host a private server. If you do, you'll soon find out that people expect everything for nothing... High availability, lots of bandwidth, premium support, regular updates and all at your expense. One can only wonder how worndown lasted as long as he did.

I applaud Lethalia for host the new Alpha Zero server.
I have been watching how PXI codes been evolving over the last two years. I have writting a few script but working on gather all information on FFXI jobs, quests and mission. However, after 7/11 update I have been work on comparing the Dark Star source code to the Pxi 6.5 code. I want to get both codes to similar state. However, Dark Star lacks most of LUA script functions and PXI 6.5 errors out any time a user attack or interacts with mob.

I know I didn't have any right to ask you Worndown about the change that need to be made DS/DLX code. But can you at least point me in right direction or which .cpp file need to edit to enable code to work with 7/11 update?
