Does 'Gold collect' even work? I know it ticks but nothing happens, can anyone confirm?

Yes. When the gold drops, it kinda fly for 1sec and auto collect it. You can try it.

So when you run through a dungeon it often happens that monster attack you, although you cant even see them on the screen (because they are not loaded). And more often than not you are ported back into a group of enemies after a certain time. I guess because one of the invisible mobs gets a knockdown on you. Any way to circumvent this?

No, there is no way to do that. As you see, WE move very fast, so fast that even before the monsters are loaded.

No tweek for the browser or a browser more suited for the game to make loading quicker? Anything to speed the spawn up?

I play Kingsroad on Kongregate only : / oh btw they updated the game just now, auto gold collect stopped working.

Yes, but do you know about the updates? Kings road themselves updated auto loot gold, so auto gold collect is no need now.
