Server name does a little bit , but not everything

so the name is not everything , its with the name you need to start to promote and you need to earn your name
so a good name is good to start , but its you that need to make that name and not the name that need to make the game

well , there you are right on
apache realy slows down your server and give massive lagspikes , specialy with those statuses on it (all time sql requests that realy slows down and give massive lag, specialy if they going abuse it )
but not everything is right
check my example
you cant even find the game name back on my website
and the only thing you can do is registering
so what you see ?? a emty simple website with a few things on it ,
its even so , if you want realy fast players , just make it realy simple
1 button to register and 1 intro page to say what you are and you get a lot of players
not all players are smart persones that knows where to click , not all players like to have a long waiting time becaue you show stats
and not all players can find that single button that says ... register (speaking out of experiances :P)
so keep it simple , and it will be fine

updating your server is a minor thing
not all players likes the new updates , but if you update you get new bugs , and new bugs is not something the players likes
so what to do then ??
instead of updating all the time , make a stable release and update it slowly
so you dont got dance skills ??
well , add them slowly to it so you are sure they are 100% working
dont rush stuff , is lostland not working ? fix it first before starting to add 12 new maps to it that doesnt works

server rates are nice
but it totaly depends on what you are suposed to do with it
you got lowrates and they are mainly to make fun with each other , to make friends , to trust persones , and to help them in a fight
and to enjoy the rewards you get
you got highrate , this is more to compose and to show how fast you can grow
most of the time , you dont care about rewards (buggy fam maps ?? buggy pk tournement ?? buggy family ?? ) and you mainly compose all the time
still making a few friends , but you dont need them to kill that 1 persone you want to have death
so highrate is more for personal fun and not anymore to make fun with friends

events depends what server rate you are
to mutch events isnt fun anymore
to less events isnt good eather
but events are as specaily , keep events when needed and dont do events when not needed
as example
you bring out a new skill , so you keep a event to promote that skill
something happends, your database crashed , keep a event to keep the players happy
and so on, so keep events depending on what is happening
a bad example
pk tour is started , and you going keep a drop event ...
every1 want to join pk tour , they dont care about the drop event on that moment

well , there are 2 differend type of staff members
1) are the in game staff , they need to take care of everything related to the players , finding bugs and reporting bugs and helping the fresh players
and keeping events sometimes (depends if needed or not)
2) developers
normal you dont see a single developer in game , exept if they are needed but then they are needed to fix bugs , not to play
a developer is the most responsible persone of the game , he take care of the reported bugs , he take care of new stuff and he make sure that everything goes like it need to be
but he dont need to asnwer a player that ask , where is that warenhouse ?? , because thats for the in game staff

hackers are a pain in the ***
sometimes it is easy to spot a hacker (speedhack for example)
other times it is hard to spot them ( autoclicker as example)
it all depends on the players for this
if your server is nice then mostly they dont hack , they start to hack later on when they are bored or that they dont like you anymore
so mostly if a persone start to hack then he likes to get rid of the server
so most of the time , you know already who is going use hacks , as long as you know your players ofcourse ^^
but the biggest problem is , you never know when they start
and there is no way to secure it for 100%

but for the rest , its kinda useless to make a superlong list with those rules if you dont even take action against it (and they never read it

so the best thing you can do for this is making a few simple rules
and then the most players keeps them to it
if a player doesnt keep on the rules , then warn him and let him feel that there are rules

for addons and edits
some persones love it , other persones hates it
it all depends from persone to persone
some garments are realy nice , but a full yellow blade ?? its like a banana you are wearing o.O
so it depends on your skills and players , before adding custom nice made stuf show it to your players and ask them if they like it or not
if 60% likes it , then add it and you will have some nice comments
but if only 40% likes it , then dont add it or you will lose players (no1 like to play a ugly game , how nice the game is , if it is ugly then they will leave)
