Hallo/Hello people.
ich dachte mir das es sinnvoll wäre, das wir hier ein paar guides rund um Elsword ansammeln, ich werde die ersten mir bekannten Guides hier posten.
I thought that it would be good, if we collect our guides to a big thread in here, to help each other.

We start with KOREAN ELSWORD GUIDES:
Registration(TRIAL):

In order to make a Nexon Korea account and play the original version of Elsword, you need a korean social security number, and then you need to verify by phone. If you don't have a valid KSSN, then you risk international identity theft charges by faking one.

.....There is however, a legal alternative that will allow you to get into kElsword, a guest account.

This guide is worthless to anyone who has a Nexon Korea account, but it will be helpful to anyone without one playing any other version, namely HK and TW where Raven, Eve, and possibly Chung need to be unlocked. Or Germany and any possible english versions coming out in the near future which won't have them for some time.

Guest account limitations:
-You cannot go higher than level 19.
-You cannot trade or send mail.
-You cannot download patches until the server is up. (An odd restriction to have.)
-Your account will not last forever. I don't know how long, exactly. I made one when I first played the game when there was only the korean version, left it alone for months, then came back when they first implimented the town update. It was still there. But when I just came back for Chung, it was gone.
-I'm not sure if you can advance to 2nd Jobs or not. I'm guessing you can, you just won't be able to get any skills as you need to be level 21.

Really, this is just for people who want to try out Raven, Eve, and/or Chung.

This is the site you will use to log in.

Step one: Click on the button to go to the page to create your account. Just enter your username and a password. No e-mail verification necessary. It's a temporary account that won't impact anything afterall.

If your username is not available, the text underneath will be red, if available, it will be green.

Step two: Log in.

Step three: Click on Game Start. Since you don't have the game installed yet, you will be prompted to download the Nexon Download Manager. Click on the left button, download it, and install it. Then click on Game Start again. It will then proceed to download the game. (It will automatically start up the game when it's done, so mute your sound if you're downloading it overnight.)

Once downloaded, you just log in then click Game Start.

Step four: Ignore this. This is just so you can convert a guest account into a Nexon Korea account. If you could make one in the first place, you wouldn't need a guest account!

And that's it!

Skill quest Guide:

To unlock a locked skill, you need to finish through a series of 5 quests for each skill.

Once you complete it, you can unlock the skill and add SP to it.

You can also use cash instead to get the skill immediately, the quests can get somewhat annoying and long. There are NO skills that are cash-exclusive, cash is simply an optional method to skip these quests

The quests are soloable, but I totally RECOMMEND doing these quests in a party as it makes easier and take as much less time. ALL of the skill quests involve drops that are COMPLETELY random, so you might need a lot of tries.

For now, there are three types of quests, each giving a different skill.

The quest is the same for ALL the classes and if the difficulty is not mentioned, it means that it can work on any difficulty.

Low Branch (Level Req: 20)

Quest 1:
You need to buy a low quality scroll (It can be bought from Camllia/PvP Girl for 20k ED)

Quest 2:
Collect 2 claws from the Scorpion King in 3-1. (You need to go on Very Hard, ***)

Quest 3:
Collect 20 necklaces from any Lizard in Besma/Town 3 (It can be anywhere from 3-1 to 3-4. I would recommend 3-3 or 3-4.)

Quest 4:
Collect 30 necklaces from the soldiers in Peyita/Castle (The first two maps in Peyita are good, but if it's not too hard try the third map)

Quest 5:
Collect a scroll drop from the boss on map 3-4 in Hard or Above (completely random)



Intermediate Branch (Level Req: 30)

Quest 1:
Buy the Intermediate Quality scroll (It costs 100k ED from Camilla/PVP girl)

Quest 2:
Collect 10 Black Crow Journals from Altera (I seriously recommend doing 4-1 to hunt for this)

Quest 3:
Collect 1 drop, 1 drop and 50 chests from map 4-2. (This can take more than 50 runs to complete. The drop for some is REALLY REALLY rare and for some drops easily. Do not post asking about it.)

Quest 4:
Collect 2 Dark Spirits from the boss in the third map of Peyita (3X-3),
Collect 4 wood from the boss in the fourth map of Peyita (3X-4)

Quest 5:
Achieve B Rank in map 4-1 in hard difficulty or higher
Achieve B Rank in map 4-2 in hard difficulty or higher
Achieve B Rank in map 4-3 in hard difficulty or higher


High Branch (Level Req: 32)

Quest 1:
Buy the High Quality scroll (It costs 140k ED from Camilla/PVP girl)

Quest 2:
Collect 50 emblems from 4-3

Quest 3:
Collect 2 masks (red) and 2 masks (blue) from each boss in 4-4 (You cannot farm these anymore, only one per run)

Quest 4:
Collect 3 drops from the boss in 4-3 on Very Hard

Quest 5:
Clear 4-4 on any mode in 8 mins or below
Clear 3x-4 on any mode in 8 mins or below
Clear 3x-3 on amy mode in 9 mins or below

Advanced Branch (Level Req: 40)

Quest 1:
Buy the High Quality scroll (It costs 300k ED from Camilla/PVP girl)

Quest 2:
Collect 50 drops from any mob in 4-6

Quest 3:
Collect 4 drops from Uno Hound (boss) in 5-1 on any difficulty

Quest 4:
Collect 3 drops from Chloe (boss) on 5-2 on Very Hard

Quest 5:
Clear 5-1 on Very Hard in less than 6 minutes
Clear 5-2 on Very Hard in less than 8 minutes
Clear 5-3 on Very Hard in less than 8 minutes

Once you complete the quest, use the item to unlock the skill.

1.st Job Advantion Guide:

You must be Lv15 to begin your 1st Job Advancement, completing 4 steps before choosing your path.
After you have chosen your path, you must clear another 4 steps before you advance.
You may start your quest at the mayor, Hoffman, located in the middle of town.
All job advancement quests have a blue label.

2-Get 30 drops from mages in Map 1 on any difficulty, 10 drops from Map 3 in any difficulty, and 5 MP potions that can be purchased from the alchemist.
3-Clear Map 5 on Hard or above with B rank or higher
4-Clear Map 5 on Very Hard to get a drop

1-Clear Map 3 on Hard in 10 minutes or less
2-Clear Map 5 on Hard with B rank or higher
3-Kill 14 bats in Map 2 at any difficulty, Kill Poison bees in Map 1 at any difficulty, and Bat King in Map 2 on Hard
4-Get a drop from a mini-boss in Map 5 on very hard difficulty


Rena

1-Clear Map 4 twice
2-Collect 10 bat wings from map 2 and obtain 10 rat tails by defeating those group of Mice in map 3
3-Talk to the weirdo guy located in the middle of Town 2
4-Kill the 15 light wisps in Map 1 at any difficulty

1-Talk to the guy in the second town(Sword Icon)
2-Get 2 drops from Map 5 on any difficulty
3-In Map 2 dungeon 1, Kill 18 of the blue headed mushrooms
4-Get a B rank or higher at Map 4 on Very Hard mode (***) and a B rank or higher at Map 5 on Very Hard mode (***).

1-Talk to the Accessory shop owner
2-Kill 8 Giant Brothers in Map 4 and Bat King (mini-boss) in Map 2
3-Clear Map 5 at any difficulty in less than 8 minutes
4-Get B Rank or higher in Map 4 on Very Hard, and Get B Rank or higher in Map 5 on Very Hard


Aisha

1-Clear Map 4 with B Rank or higher on Hard
2-Get a drop from Map 1
3-Get 2 drops from the boss in Map 5 at any difficulty, and 2 drops from the boss in Map 3 in any difficulty
4- Get 30 drops from mages in Map 1 on any difficulty, 10 drops from Map 3 in any difficulty, and 5 MP potions that can be purchased from the alchemist.

1-Get a B rank or higher at Map 5 on Hard mode (**).
2-Collect 18 item drops from Bats in Map 2 and Collect 1 blue elixer. (can be bought at alchemist for 1k)
3-Clear Map 2 on Hard mode (**) taking 20 or less hits.
4-Speak to Hoffman (guy in center of town).

- Buy a 1k item from the Alchemist (kinda looks like a fancy bottle of water)
- Collect 10 Pproru Horns from Pporu in Map 4.
2- Get one drop from a crossbow knight in Map 5 (any difficulty)
3- Finish Map 2 hard mode with less than 20 hits.
4- Talk to the alchemist again after accepting the 4th quest.

Raven

1-Kill 18 some pokey pokey monsters on Map 4 on any difficulty
2-Talk to the Alchemist in town 2
3-Collect a Secret Mail drop from the brown brothers in Map 2.
4-Clear Map 1 in Very Hard in 7 minutes or lower

1-Talk to the Weapon seller in town 2
2-Collect 10 emblems from the Rat Soldiers on Map 3 in any difficulty
3-Collect 1 blade from the mini-boss or boss on Map 4 in Very Hard.
4-Collect 1 drop from the Wally Guardians in Map 5 on any difficulty.

1- fight black bat on map 2 and get 4 item from it(not drop everytime)
2- kill 20 dagger monster from map 3 and get item from it
kill boss on very hard and get his item
get 20 items from disassemble weapons (one of the button in inventory)
3- kill map 5 boss(very hard) and get a item
4- Talk to the Alchemist in Town 2


Eve

1-Clear Map 5 twice at any difficulty
2-Get a random drop from the Giant Red Magician in Map 1 on Very Hard mode (***)
3-Obtain B rank or higher in map 2 (I forgot which difficulty, Im pretty sure its hard (**) )
4-Talk to the Alchemy NPC in town 2

1-Get a random drop from the bats in map 2 (any difficulty)
2-Get a random drop from map 3 (any difficulty, but highest one recommended)
3-Get a random drop from map 5 in hard (**) difficulty
4-Complete map 5 in very hard (***) in 15 minutes or lower

1-Collect 4 drops from Bats in Map 2 on any difficulty.
2-Get a drop from the boss in map 5, and 2 drops from the boss in map 4 on any difficulty
3-Collect the spanner from a well in Map 3 in any difficulty, and 20 rocks from breaking/disassembling weapons
4-Clear Map 5 on Very Hard in 15 minutes or lower

Registration(FULL):

Hello there! This guide is for the Elsword (엘소드) Korean server, and here I will teach you how to register for Nexon KR.

Using Mozilla Firefox let's you copy with ctrl+c and paste with ctrl+v, but sometimes you get errors and it would be best to use Internet Explorer. You can paste with shift+insert.

1. Go to the Nexon registry page.



2. Click on either CHILD (left) or ADULT (right) Registration.



3. Check all 4 boxes, then select "확인".



4. Register your KSSN with a matching name.



If you selected CHILD you can use a generator here.

If you selected ADULT you should use KSSNs that are older than 15 and younger than 18 to avoid issues.

We CANNOT help you obtain one, and asking for one or discussing about KSSNs is NOT allowed. Use google, there are over 10,000 pages of them.

5. Parent Verification (CHILD Account ONLY)

If you selected ADULT you can skip this step.

Here you will need a REAL KSSN (No Generators) with a matching name over the age of 20. The parent must also be at least 20 years older than the child.




6. Enter your info.



Don't use your Login ID as your nickname. Your nickname is what appears to others, but you type in your Login ID to...well, login.

Your password must be 6~12 characters long, and alphanumeric (includes letters and numbers).

I suggest remembering your info, even your Secret Question and Answer. Email them to yourself for safety, as you will need it if you ever need to change your password.

For telephone just select something random from the list to the right and type random numbers.

8. Click on "start game" to download/patch your game and you are done. (will take some hours to download your client) You can also use our manual patch to install the game faster.

Skill Book Guide:

This is a Guide (No ****! Sherlock) For people who are wondering about this Skill Notes thing, cause I've been explaining this for quite a few time now, so I decided to make one, even though it's incomplete, so feel free to edit and change things that are wrong or are missing something.

Guide to Skill Book and their notes~!

• Get the Skill Book quest from PvP Ariel, the blond NPC.
• Clear 3-1 and 3-2 on Very Hard
• Clear maps in Besma (Recommended 3-4) for 20 quest drops, and 4 corn thingies that you use for alchemizing.
• Turn in quest to get Skill Book
• Right click on it to gain access to Skill Book page

You can see your Skill Book through your inventory, on the button near disamble. Looks like this.

This is what it looks like in the Skill Book.

This is what it looks like after putting a Skill Note in. This is an example of putting a Mana Shield note in lvl 50 slot.

The level 20 30 40 50 are slots for you to put your skill notes in, you unlock each slots at certain levels. You can not have more than 1 slot with the same skill note.

Skill notes can be gotten from NPCs with PvP Girl for special skills ie. Mana Shield. Or at Besma's blacksmith for default class beginning skill ie. Rail Stinger. Drop from mobs, buy from other players, or from Cash Shop.

This is what a Skill Note looks like. READ BEFORE USING IT!!!!! So that you won't regret it later in case it is some skill you do not use.

There are three types of notes:

PvP Girl's Skill Note Quest

• Get the quest at PvP Girl
• Clear 4-1 on Very Hard with 8 minutes timer
• Clear 4-2 on whatever difficulty, and kill 35 Type -L, and 5 boss of the map
• Clear X-1 on Hard mode or higher for 4 drops from boss.
• Right click on it and select on one of the slots.

Besma's Blacksmith's Skill Notes Quest

• Get the quest at Besma's Blacksmith
• Collect 120 drops from 3-5 and 3-6, and destroy 20 Nasod carts (after you kill the one holding the cart, destroy the cart to get it) Can be farmed, will take only 3-4 rounds of 3-6 Very Hard
• Destroy 8 mining fields from either 3-5 or 3-6 (Recommended 3-6 Very Hard)
• Right click on it and select on one of the slots.

List of Skill Notes gotten from PvP Girl (Incomplete)

• Mana Shield: Now absorbs 20% more damage, and can sustain 3 more hits, ie. 2 Aishas with exact same status (Naked) with one having upgraded Mana Shield and one with normal Mana shield. The upgraded Mana Shield person Aging-ed the non upgraded one for 583 damage, while the non upgraded one Aging-ed back for 282 damage.
• HP Conversion : 30% chance of HP being saved

List of Skill Notes gotten from Besma's Blacksmith (Incomplete)

• Slash Assault: Distance and Casting speed increase, damage increased as well.
• Binding Circle: The effected binding circle enemies get a speed reduction debuff for 20% and the duration is 10 seconds longer.
• Rail Stinger: Now penetrates 5 targets and does 20% more damage.
• Dimension Link: Now doesn't knock down the enemy when summoned, and attacks faster.

Skill Notes from Cash Shop (Incomplete)

• Magic Missile: Now the speed is increased by 50% and attacks 2 more times
• Dark Cloud: Now when inflicted with poison, the victims will get 30% reduction in running and jumping speed for 5 seconds.
• Cresent Kick: Now moves 50% slower results in more hits, but each hit's damage is reduced 33% ???
• Guide Arrow: Shoots out 4 arrows instead of 2 and travels faster.
• Sonic Wave: Now Oberon doesn't go up during the animation anymore, and the range seems to be bigger
• Explosion Impact: Now doesn't raise the mobs upon activation, and does 10% more damage.
• Rising Slash: 1 additional blades from both sides
• Air Slash: Hitting the target has a less probability to fall, crit percentage increase 10%
• Flying Impact: Spins slower resulting in more hits.
• Arc Enemy: Does more damage, and can attack 2 targets at the same time

• Fatal Fury: Mana recovery on first hit by 50%, increase damage by 20%, first hit hits differently, target cannot escape
• Kick: Strike Damage increased (by up to 4 times, I think)
• Stoic: Cooldown reduced, while maintaining the increased the damage.
• Counterattack: Increased in counter-defense period

[hr]Rena

• Pheonix Strike: Critical percentage increase, increases the duration of burning
• Shooting mode: Increases the speed of the arrows shooting
• Back-tumbling shot: Cooldown reduced
• Reflective kick: Cooldown reduced

[hr]Aisha

• Chain Fireball: Burn effect from this skill is extended by 10 seconds.
• Mana Shield: Damage reduction, number of hits to reduce increased
• Teleport: Temporary invincibility after using teleport
• Circle Flame: Damage increase, and more flame increase (not sure?)

[hr]Raven

• Cannon Blade: Reduces the moving speed of the flame to get a better target
• Earth Break: Better stun rate, doesn't knock down
• Burning Rage: Faster burning, MP usage reduction
• Shadow Step: Speed and Distance Increase
• Shadow Stab: Does not knockdown

[hr]Eve

• Generate Blackhole: Suction size increase for 30%, damage increase 10%
• Cloaking: More Mana gain instead of loss, but more cooldown.
• HP convert: A chance when casting that HP is not consumed, but cooldown is increased.
• Mega electronball: Reduction of time for charging.

2.nd Job Advancement:

[big][big]All 2nd Job Advancement quests require you to be at least Lv35 and have Peyita AND Belder Unlocked.
-To unlock Peyita you must have at least cleared 3-1 on Normal mode. (*)
-To unlock Belder you must have at least cleared 4-6 on Normal mode. (*)
You can begin all 2nd Advancement quests at Ariel, the blonde event NPC located in every town.

Some drops have a VERY LOW DROP RATE but they DO DROP. You have to be VERY PATIENT.

Download Client Manually(when patcher is broken)

Having a problem with the patcher? Want to download a file manually? Then look here. NOW.

I'll make it simple as possible.

1) Get the latest location for the patch files by downloading this:


2) Open it up in notepad or any text editor of choice, and note down the link inside the file
e.g.

3) To download the file you wish to download, add "/data/(whatever file you want)"
e.g




Hints:
It is advised to use a download manager to speed things up.
For firefox, I recommend DownThemAll! ()
If the download speed is less than 10kbs, you can keep pausing/stopping it and continuing it until it downloads at a faster speed.

4) If you haven't stopped the patcher already, stop it before continuing. Once it's done downloading, move the item downloaded into the elsword folder (usually C:\Nexon\ElSword\data), and confirm any replacements. Then run the patcher again.


ADVANCED MODE: GETTING THE LIST OF UPDATED FILES IN ADVANCE.

Okay so we can download files manually. But how can we know which files we need to download in advance?

To do this, we need to conduct an XML comparison check. And to do this, you NEED the patchinfo.xml from about few days ago (or before the update started).

For example, to prepare for an upcoming patch for say, the 8th of July 2010, you must acquire a patchinfo.xml BEFORE the maintenance begins, say like the 5th of July.

Nexon deletes the xmls after each day, so you must get it ON THAT DAY (aka on the 5th of July)

To find the XML file, you would do the same: open , get the link, and add patchinfo.xml to then end, like:



Save it as something like 7-5-elsword.xml or something. (So you can recognize it)

Now fast forward to after the maintenance ends.

Again, get the new link using and get the LATEST XML, like so:



Save it as something recognizable, like 7-8-elsword.xml

Now you have two XML files. You now need a program that enables you to compare changes between them. I would recommend ExamXML as it does the job easily.

Once you have it, load up both XML files and look at the changes. Anything that is highlighted green on the right side means it is NEW, and that you should add it to your list of manual downloads.

Boss Drops and Untradeables:

What are Boss Drops?

Boss drops, as obvious as it is, are drops that drop from specific bosses. Some of us get pretty lucky, and find these highly seeked untradables within a single digit number of runs. On the other hand, some of us are pretty unlucky and farm the same dungeon for over a week before actually finding it.

You can tell an item's rarity by their name colour.
White: General (I call them Commons)
Yellow: Rare (I call them Uncommons)
Pink: Elite (I call them Rares)
Beige: Unique
Did I decide these names? No, they are those words under every item's name in brackets.

Here are some tips on farming these accessories and special equipment:
-Set up a party of three or more. When you have three or more party members, drop rates are doubled.
-Adjust your loot settings to "Finders Keepers" and pick up all the drops when the boss dies. Make sure you have your party's permission first!
-Keep the normal "Random Distribution" but kindly request your party to leave before picking up the drops, if you see what you want.
-This one is just a myth, but supposedly higher difficulties give you a higher chance to find what you're looking for.

Characteristics of a Boss Drop:
Boss drops are always untradable. (You can tell if an item is untradable if you see red letters underneath the item's stats and price.)
You can make them tradable ONCE by buying that purple footprint stamp from the Cash Shop for 1.9k won NX each. You can only ever use 5 stamps on one item.
They are always of Elite rarity, unless stated that they have a Unique rarity.
Every dungeon has one of these special drops, some more than others.
There are some special boss drops that can be waorn by all characters (*Common Class), or have a specific version with different attack/defense for each character (**X Class).
Difficulty of the dungeon almost never matters unless stated.
-?-?a. Any difficulty/Top path.
-?-?b. Hard difficulty or higher/Bottom path.
-?-?c. Very Hard difficulty/Bottom path.
