As per their motto, Flip is a crypto-token for gamers from gaming experts and it is backed by Bigpoint, EA and Gree. They believe they can produce a brand new ecosystem for the gaming industry. The current problem they believe we have is that once you buy a digital object in a game, it's locked into that game. Lets say Guild Wars 2 for example, once you buy a cosmetic skin there, it stays in Guild Wars 2.
The plan is that – with them creating FLIP – which will be a leverage from the Etherum blockchain and ERC-20 interface, you will eventually have complete ownership of digital items, allowing you to exchange and purchase items from any game. Gameflip are creating SDKs and open-source plugins to be able to allow for easy intergration. One of the huge benefits which I also haven't mentioned is that you'll also be able to make transations with other users without any issue of potiental fraud so you can buy or sell whenever you want, with no issue.
There is quite a lot of information to take in however, I believe there is a lot of potiental in a system like this. I highly suggest you take a look at this video which should answer any questions.
If you are wondering on what their next step will be, have a look at their road map. By what it looks like, they will be done by the end of this year.
So, what do you guys think? Would this be worth keeping an eye out for?
