[Discussion]Dll injections in Dragonica THQ

So i've been playing around with dll injection in dragonica online, THQ*Ice server, and I've put together some basics. I'm learning this stuff too so don't expect me to be some expert.

This is a code i pieced together from other guides I have found throughout my friend, google.

Basically, what it does is identify two variables:
Zoom
Clicks

Both of these were found in raresumo's CT (thanks again) and I decided to use this as a starting point for some conceptual practice.
Basically, I set the value of the zoom to equal the number of clicks. As clicks increase in the, so too will the zoom (starting from 0)
This code worked! Yay! I was able to zoom out simply by clicking the game.
Of course this is in no way useful at all, but it's a starting point for what I am trying to do.

What I want to do is create a dll that will allow me to be able to freely change the value of the zoom offset while ingame. Once that's done, I would use the same concept to create a teleport hack for ingame.
Basically what I have figured this would call for is some sort of an injected GUI inside the game, but I have not yet figured out how to do that as the guides found on google seem completely gibberish to me.
If anyone wants to join in on this project feel free I'm just doing this for fun.

lol..dll injection is out of my scope xD anyway gluck
but being able to zoom out is pretty neat too...especially during pvp

I was going to answer your PM (as follows)
I was thinking of trying to make a dll for teleport hacks for dragonica, and i was wondering how that would work. I know the bare minimum basics to dll injection, but when I use my offset address with the pointer, what exactly should the address look like?

For example if the pointer for X coord is P->037544C4, is the offset for the dll just 0x037544C4?

Also how would I either make an interface that can pop up ingame or possibly make it so that whatever string I type into the chat box can be entered into the code as a command.

I dont know if you have any idea how to do any of this but I thought i'd give it a shot anyways :s

.. but I found something that answers all your questions neater than I could . It includes how to add pointers AND hotkeys.

As for a GUI (if hotkeys aren't good enough), I highly suggest a d3d wrapper. Google.

also how did u find the pointers for dragonica in the first place? everytime I attempt it, i crash because of the debugger

Explain clearer? You mean 2 offsets from the address? ie; double pointer?

how did u find the pointers for dragonica in the first place? everytime I attempt it, i crash because of the debugger
I didn't use the generic "find what writes to" method. There's at least 5 ways to find pointers.

two pointers offsets right?

When I google for finding pointer addresses, the only commonly used one I could find was the "what writes to this address" method. care to share your other method?

2 definitions. See "162C03CC" in your screen?

Define that using the tutorial link and the bottom AoP as your base address, + the bottom offset.

Then define the address you're modifying as that definition + the top offset. Follow? I'm on my way out for the night.. maybe tomorrow I'll write something up for you.

can't seem to compile. line strcat_s(system,"\\winmm.dll"); has an error. I may be doing this wrong, I am a complete beginner and I am only able to make assumptions about what the code does... seems to be able to grant access to a sort of 'debug menu' in the game, right? it's opening up all the different parameters in the game from the looks of it.
