[FT] Dragonica english private server

Well, seeing that taiwan has their own private server.
I would believe there would be others that has their hands on the server files.

Now with that idea in hand, what do we need to have an english private server?

1) Hosted server to setup on
This is easily settled as I have connections with gameserver hosters that would gladly host the game.

2) Server files
As long as we have the full set of it, setting it up would be of no issue.
I have several personal experience setting up tons of private servers for different games
e.g. RO, L2, WoW, MS, GB, Sun, PW, PT, etc

You might say hey! there's a boo boo here! The server's in chinese!
That my friend is perfectly alright.
As I am both english and chinese educated, I could both read and write in both languages.

So, we will be able to translate both the server and client side to english


Much is achievable here.
Of cause, I do not wish to do this alone.
A team will be formed, with different people handing different work.

There will be development teams to run several sections:
1) core development - extending the game (e.g new episodes?)
2) client development - extending the game, launchers, hack prevention
3) server maintainance - to maintain the server and the web site
4) translation development - to translate the game into n number of languages.


Once the servers and server files are secured, and also the positions filled
This will ensure the success of the team.
Now, anyone interested?

Nah bro, I am talking with a friend, who's trying to optain the files.
As you already should know, we will need the source, for both the server and the client. And thats not the easiest thing in the world to get.

Offcourse, I can't promise anything, but I'll try.

If you can translate it to English there will be a lot of people that could translate it to other langs.
I could do the translation to Romanian if you teach us how lol

That is a good start, having the source is the best option in the world.

Nonetheless that is also a start, since we all know it is in a workable state.
The rest of the missing functions we can build dlls plugins to the executable, which will release the full capabilities.
(this i ensure you is a valid solution, we have done it before in L2 developments...)

For the client side, as we know the taiwanese client is without hackshield.
So basically, just HEX it
(this is the easy but tedious part of translating.
in future we will take data from new patches to include as part of the new deployment)

Yeah, that's basically why we form teams to work on different aspect even on things like translation


All in all, most important step 1, get the executables or/and source.
I am currently in talks with some taiwanese friends to get my hands on the server emu.

I can transelate it fromenglish into danish and german if you need someone to do that in the translation development team.
