The system should not even be set up to allow for invite selling. If you're giving out invites to anyone your existing users vouch for, then you may as well just say that anyone who can solve 2+2 gets an invite
Only the admin team should be a part of the invite decision process. No suggestions from users allowed & if a member of the admin team is selling invites fire them
Blame the invite system itself not "third worlders"
Also why did the other thread about oxide invites get moved or deleted? Seriously? I wasn't bashing oxide at all I said I've heard good things but think that an "invite only" system is not affective. That's all

Users were able to request invitations for friends. Whether an invitation was granted or not was of course decided by the Staff Team.

Right trust me I followed that logic my point was that it seems like you approved so many user recommendations that they began to sell their recommendations that would inevitably lead to an invite.. so basically there were users who could guarantee an invite to oxide which shouldn't be able to happen
If it's that easy to get oxide, I'd just go public. But of course, I do not run your business, so this is only a suggestion

We declined ~80% of the invite requests.
And no, I (we) dont want to go public. Invites are closed completely now.

Invite systems shouldn’t be a things. Applications systems with interviews are way more effective, and does the job a invite systems should do way better.
As said earlier, invite systems are to make the public feel like it’s a “private” cheat/product or to earn more money by selling invites.

I've seen multiple Youtubers shill for Oxide. For a "Private Invite only" cheat you'd think they'd wanna stay under the radar and not bring attention to themselves, especially for channels with thousands of viewers.

yeah, I'd personally be embarrassed if my "private cheat" was being advertised by youtubers like tabz...... but to each their own.
As others have said, maybe the invite process oxide uses could use some tweaking, if the point is to keep the community private. I know someone who purchased an oxide invite easily and from their experience now in the oxide community, seems to be pretty normal, without repercussion.
the shilling, invite sales and questionable marketing can definitely use criticism, but I haven't heard anyone getting VAC'd from oxide yet, so at least they aren't chock full o' vectors. OW bans can happen with even the most secure cheese, that depends on playstyle.

Our invite system worked with applications, users had to request an invite (write an application) for their friends. And we (Staff Team) never sold invites.

Multiple Youtubers? Hixi (Oxide Admin) has around 1k subs and just do like showcases. The only "big" youtuber with Oxide content is Tabzware and we never asked him for doing video nor we gave him free sub or whatever.

Its not normal that ppl buy/sell invites, we do our best to find invite sellers and buyers and if we find them they get permanently banned, so "without repercussion" is completely wrong. About the merketing stuff, there is no marketing at all, we dont have a single thread on any forum advertising oxide.
Due to the invite sellers/buyers we have closed the invitations completely for now and we will try to find a way to prevent invite selling/buying.

Maybe you guys should make a application based system, and totally ditch the "invite" aspect of it, since there is no benefit for it, if you really wanna stay "private".
Do applications where you talk and interview people that made a good written application with knowledge and past experience about the cheating scene, also ask for link to public profiles and private ones too.
This way you will filter all the "toxic kids" out and have a community with experience cheaters that are somewhat known in the community, instead of 100 kids that bought invites.
I never liked invite systems, simple because you cannot filter out the people you don't want, and will not have the control of the poeple that get into the community you would like to have.

Thats how the invite request system worked, but just without voice chat.
I have to mention that Oxide is my "2nd job", so I go to work from Monday - Friday from 6am to 3pm, same goes for Hixi. I hope you get what I wanna say.

Well i can only recommend you to try and get voice interviews, it's just much more personal and you can go much more down in details. You could get more moderators/staff to do these kind of things, there are plenty of experienced people that would do it for a little sneak peak into betas and free sub etc.
Yeah i thought so much since it's invite only, don't think anyone buy GS could have it as a 1-job.
It's just my recommendations. (Remove the "invite" part, replace it with detailed interviews)

Fair enough, props to you guys for taking comments as feedback and trying to improve and learn from them. End of the day I really don't see or hear anything bad about oxide, nothing industry breaking but nothing bad either. The main issue is hard to control, aka fuckbois

There are people who appreciate invite-only soft, quit sobbing about oxide already leave it be, if your product is truly better than the one you're hating on, show it. It's really that easy, oxide is highly regarded in the German scene due to everybody knowing where the dev came from and that he brings experience. Cod cheats not being able to make rcs and vis check should really not give advice on business
