If your goal is to find a 'ready to host' server then you clearly shouldn't be trying to run a server in the first place.
#1: Public sources are public for a reason, they're either fatally flawed and not worth using, are not completed (tons of missing core features) or else are not polished (plenty of bugs, missing npcs, basic content to be tweaked)
#2: Even IF you got your hands on a 'ready to host server' (usually those are paid) you still have to be willing and able to do ongoing updates. There's always going to be bugs that pop up, there's going to be the need for ongoing content updates and there's going to be things that you notice that might deserve a bit of a re-write to make them more sustainable in the long run
#3: If you are not willing and able to provide ongoing bugfixes/updates to your server then there's no possible reason for someone to want to play it (other than it being a 'just for fun, me and my friends' type server in which case public sources will work just fine)
Yes, you can come down on me all you want and claim I just don't want others running servers but I'm saying all this from a player standpoint. Why would I possibly want to play the server of someone who cannot make it work in the long run and has no idea how their source works?
