Anything that relates to currency and any other client based attribute that can be updated (without strings) is updated using packet 10017 (with some exceptions of course like arena info, etc.).
Edit: Things like character info, arena info, rose info, mentors, item info and other large systems use their own packets because they contain multiple subtypes and/or large amounts of data to be transferred. 10017 is good for sending a value for one attribute - like HP, MP, Exp hours, Lucky Time hours, etc.
