DO IT LIKE THIS:
Connection Name: localhost
Host name/IP address: localhost
Port: 3306
Username: root
Password: Put your Appserver password here....
Press on Test Connection so that you will know if the Connection is Successful.

You have to setup MySQL first. Download MySQL instance config wizard, set everything up, (Use root as username) Then once you set up MySQL then go into Navicat and login with what you registered with.
If you have already setup MySQL. The password is wrong obviously but if it isn't delete that MySQL account and register a new one with the instance config.
