Im pretty sure war-> tro does NOT get SM.
Also, as for the question about HP, well AFIAK every class gets the same amount of attirbute points at each lvl - they are just distributed differently, so really makes little difference regardless of your class (as long as you are willing to sacrifice your other attribute points for HP). Also for 20k HP i geuss you need full 255 vitality, +9 necky, and full SDG enchant, so a bit out of reach for most...
Personally I think wat -> war -> tro will kick *** if you've got a miricle gourd - it'll give you enough mana for self stig without draining much of your attribute points (i think - unless magic spell actually require mana attributes and not mana points). BUT as said before, unless you can get it plvled to 130, its gonna be hell doing it yourself.
Otherwise any 130 -> warr -> tro is cool too ... and i geuss the tro would be a good starting choice as they are probably the quickest to get to 130 by themselves.
Or if you think reflect is overated/think TQ may get rid of reflect for non war-war-X or X-war-war then go for wat-tro-tro / tro-tro-tro. Again, if you start as water (would be my personal preference) you want a good plvler, otherwise go for tro because it is easier to lvl to 130, and you get more opportunities to soc your items as you keep them for liefe

Cant comment on fire tho.. dont know enough about them (but fire-war-tro is a bad choice as explained before hand)...
