Met doves make me sad :'(

Lol, I'm not giving any clues.
My original reply was before I knew the full details of the patch, I wasn't given enough information.

All I can tell you now, is that BigDove will NOT work, and MeteorDove locator based on packets or memory will not work. Infact, there is no way te differ a real MeteorDove from a fake unless you hit it, or it hits you.

That leaves us in the position of Archer->Scatter. Best we could do is create a warning system that will signal us when we hit a metdove. It'll be done by logging incoming attack packets and logging the HP dealt to every entitiy we scatter, the low damages will indicate a meteordove.

Sorry to inform you though, the days of easy metzone are over, there is absolutely no way to figure out which are different without attaking to start with.

nope. No way to tell the difference using packets, memory, pixel scanning or any other common methods. As far as the client showing them, they are all exactly the same.

as to the metdove problem, there HAS to be a client-sided difference, otherwise the hp bar of both doves would lose hp on the bar in the same amount. decreasing of hp on the bar is only client sided afaik.

Yea that's what I have thought about when I was finding a new way to spot them.

So from now on metzone will be a place for archers only, which is good for me because I have an high lvl archer which I don't use for anything :P

Its not going to work after the patch today, all the treasure birds name will change to meteor dove, so i dont want really big treasure birds named "meteor dove" to flood my screen. can i have the regular one thats unedited? ^^

all i did was looked at type id, the birds cannot be the same by id... otherwise they would all drop 5 mets.. i dont know if thise works but i changed the zooms, soooo... given with theory of past game edits, this should work... if it doesnt... atleast i made a quick and logical attempt.. hope it works.. i&#39;ll let ya know in about 30 mins.

seriously it was about time they made the place just for archers..cause ya know the moonbox quest is mostly for freaking trojans and warriors. So its nice to have something for archers. To many reborns in my server guard whoreing the metdoves.

Back when you could distinguish meteor doves from treasure birds just by looking at their names, i got a file off this website that made the met doves huge and easy to spot. Now that they are all meteor doves, it won&#39;t work anymore. Has anyone created a new file that can somehow distinguish the real met doves from the fake ones? ...or anything similary to what i&#39;m asking about would be nice :)

I havent been to met zone for quite a while. I allowed others to use my account, so they would met my stuff while I lvled the character. Anyway, I was wondering some things: 1. Are mets doves (the ones that ALWAYS drop at least 1 met) still in the game? I recall a patch or something that got rid of them, changed their name, or did SOMEtHING to them. Thats how long ago I was in met zone last time :P 2. If they are still there, do the small guard and large met doves programs still work? ...
