No if he didnt have enough cooling it will shutdown (common problm)
If he had lack of power, it would shutdown
If he didnt have enough memory it would dump some, which in turn will make the machine shutdown.
Lack of CPU speed/FSB speed slows memory dumping/reading/writing result in shutdown
OS cant handle the memory allocation, crashes (shutdown)
Age of PC, Heat gel may have been cheap and dried (increases the heat, acts as an insulator in turn keeps the heat in, then shuts down)
So, its not a realm of fantasy. I tryed to run 3 clients on my 800 mhz and it was fine. after 3 hours speed droped dramatically.
Ive done ITE (IT Essentials) at school and passed so I know that overloading a system can kill it.
BTW, is your computer overclocked by any chance?
