you can use the official Client for a P-Server.
But only for 2010th Serverfiles ;)
.infinity has made a pretty good tutorial how you can connect with an official mt2 Client to 2010 Serverfiles.

modded or not?
if not u can use every 2010er client, It doesn't matter
only wat u need is the dll and exe for the client
