We all heard/know or done the poison blade scam. Its pretty simple you have a poison blade (any level) and an unique blade same level. You put a noob in market shouting S>poison blade or a vendor hawking with equipped poison blade.
I'm gonna go into structure of this scam becuse I've made some interesting money with this and I wanna share it. If I copied some1 regards go to him, no flaming pls I don't mean to copy-cat some1.
I will borrow some terms from Impeccable's post becuse the guy is a genius and actually defined what kind of ppl you can meet in co. =)
-What is a poison blade and how can you recognize it?
Poison blade is a unique blade with a chance to release max attack power you have on the character. It can be released with direct hit, fast blade or as taos use it, on firing thunder, fire even tornado (I haven't tryed other spells like meteor or fire ring so no idea there). If the target is not killed by the effect you will notice there is a skull floating over it just like the poison arrow effect.
-What things you need to pull off this scam?
You need a vendor who is capable of equipping the blade, becuse in the advanced cases you need to prove that is a real poison blade. 40-60 lvl trojan warrior is good for that. You can do this with reborn chars too becuse he/she can equip all weapons till 70 lvl and fire thunders on mobs. He is good in showing other players that it is real poison blade.
You need a real poison blade and another blade with same quality, level and other things as the real poison blade. I recommend getting as many as unique non-poison blades as you can.
-Who can you scam?
Everyone! You can scam noobs and players that played for centuries. You might not make alot of money from this but you can fool anybody that is interested in buying a poison blade.
-How to take advantage of noobs and be prepared for smart buyers?
-THE NOOB
What a guy. He heard TQ made a thing called poison blade and heard that is very powerful. Note that he no longer needs to hear stuff about it. He won't think twice, he will go and buy it! So he is the easiest person to make money from. He will usually ask the same questions: how much and is it real? In other words-EASY MONEY
If you sell the blade shouting on market he will trade with you and put the money/items you agreedon. Just put the non-poison blade, click ok and thats that. There was this one guy that I sold poison blade to (thats what he thought) and he never noticed the blade isn't poison! He bought it and used it, + it, made socks in it and later he made it super! ... no comment
-The normal, regular player
Now this is where you can see more challenge. He/she will come asking for poison blade and everything will go same as for the noob. But this guy/girl might say: Hmmm.... how do I know you won't just scam me? If you mumble some stupid stuff like trust me, I'm not scammer the opposite will happen! So you need something for proof. Even tho this player didn't ask for test, walk with your vendor to TC, ask him/her to follow you and equip the real poison blade. Kill some mobs till the effect on the blade is shown. Make sure you point on the effect. Remove the poison blade from your char so the player will think you will trade it and put the non-poison in the trade window. Easy!
-The pro, expirienced player
The top of the line. These players rarely buy poison blades becuse they often have 130 archers and make poison blades. But a miracle happends. Make sure you take advantage of it. Also stay on lookout for these players when they wanna buy a poison blade BAD! You can get 3x more money then.
He will be very cautious and so must you be. He will ask for test, check the item, ask to test by himself (don't be stupid and fall for that)!
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU MUST LOOK FOR IF YOU WANT TO SCAM THIS KIND OF GUY!
First you need the poison and non-poison blade to be EXACTLY the same. Level, quality, dura, sockets, gems... everything. He will watch every step while you test the blade on mobs.
Always check that the durability of the poison blade is same with the blade you want to trade. Many people failed to do the scam becuse the buyer noticed that the durability of the blade you tested with and the blade you are trading isn't the same.
-Aftermath
After you succesfully do the scam, you may run into screamers that will get the word fast that you scammed them. Make new vendor and transfer the items and delete the vendor you did the scam with. Don't do it more than three times per day or you will get caught. If yo u scammed many persons or a popular char wait for a day or two before try selling a poison blade becuse the people will know you are the same guy!
