Has any1 got commands such as /ban, /aban working. Normally it just disconnects the GM toon but other than that does nothing.

I hope they don't get this working. Can you not see a problem arising if it does? I see two possible issues with this working.

1. A GM gets on and is in a bad mood. Something upsets them and they use the command to ban someone. Said thing was miniscule and was not a bannable offense.

2. A GM account gets hacked and said person who hacked it decides to go on a banning spree against any or all people who upset them.

I see no reason to make this work, do you?

Then he/she should have never been a GM in the first place. And what's to stop him from doing it in the DB if he has access???

Then the server is weak the GM gave his password to a freind or the GMs password was simple...

Yes i do. it can help GMs imeditly ban the person that is required. and if the GM has no DB access he can still Ban without having to wait for a coder to assiste him

You shouldn't have people you don't trust to not do these things as GM's and if you do, there are logs to check in case.

just /kick the player
and then go to the db and set their status to -5 o.O
i dont think GMs were meant to ban in game just like they cant res with a command
a GM toon isnt meant to be in game all the time..most the work by a GM is done in the db anyway..thats if you are using those admin accounts for the right purpose not just for in game police
