5165 How to Upgrade 5200 + ？:confused:

Something about a socket system, i'm sure the question has been asked before.

Concrete steps?

I'm not sure of the exact steps, learning is part of the process of life.

im pretty sure it doesnt have 2 do wit sockets its packets and packet handlers

1-5165 and prev versions accepts the connection and handles the login request but 5280+ u need to add the seed packet when connection request arrived then handle the login request (the client wont send the login packet request until it gets the seed packet)

2-the auth response packet length and offsets has been changed so u need to get the new structure , (u can find all this info at the Corv wiki)

3-doin that prev 2 steps u have successfully loged in now u need to edit ur character info packet and other packets as they changed

4-u now have a base login 5280+ source

I released a working version of immunes source upgraded to 5290. it works up till 5309 iirc and even then it's a MINOR change to get it working on current patch.


Honestly though if you are interested in upgrading to a newer patch you should know better then to bother using lotf...

It's a waste of time and if you are capable of upgrading a source PROPERLY to a new patch (IE: logging all the new packet structures and coding all the new features from scratch) then you should be able to either A: Write your own basic source or B: use an existing basic source and upgrade it instead.
