Possible Closed dev team on one project... [ported from my post on MM]

I have a google apps hosting... and I thought with the awesome collaboration that comes with google apps that it would be lovely for a small group of developers to get together and all work on one code... mod pack and everything all together... I will have the installer package check my site for updates when they become available. but I feel if we get a bunch of developers in one group working on a single unified code project and were able to bug test and everything all together how much better would this community be??? so if you like my idea and want to get with me on this endeavor reply to this thread or pm me...

people we are going to need are...
XML editors to edit and update xml files
C++ editors to work on c++ code for patch files etc.
Graphical Mod editors/makers
testers...

The people involved in the coding and editing files and the uploaders will get email addresses on my private domain, also access to google docs sites and other things of that sort... there are currently 49 dev spots open as of 1/5/11

"learning"? Might not be good enough owo

but xml updating might be?

I can mod graphically, and could update xml.

I was also pretty much in charge of trying to break the client software at my last job, and documenting how I broke it.

Other than making a patcher/modset, what is your goal? A private/public modset? Both? Open source patcher? Gamebreaking mods?

I'm interested in any case.

I'm good with Java, (XML, but that shouldn't even count ._.), and I'm currently refreshing myself with C++ and assembly (after a few months). I could help, I guess.

XML updating requires using a XML api in a programming language?

Yeah, I've been wondering why you wanted XML "coders", it's not particularly reassuring tbh.

XML coding is extremely easy (one look at an xml and common sense should kick in to help someone code it) and I must also agree that this shouldn't be a requirement unless that would be their specific "job"

You could use my patcher... No, not the current one released, the one that I haven't released that possesses quite a lot more features
