What is the difference between thanks and thanks in posts?

as i said in the title...what is Thanks for and what is thanks in number of posts for. I think i know what thanks in number of posts does..but what is thanks for..yesterday i had 3 and today i have 4 =/.:confused:

I think you're just reading it wrong.. xD It's "thanks" and "thanked". So thanks is how many times you have thanked people and thanked is how many times people have thanked you and in however many posts.

Thanks = the number of thanks you gave out to others.
Thanked= the number of thanks you recieved from others in certain posts.
