Anti-Virus Help ^_^

ok i got norton installed on my comp. should i get like a free version of AVG... and if so is it bad to even have 2 anti-virus softwares on your computer weather ones in use or not. someone told me all they do is try to get rid of each other and let shit slip through plz and thx for all help ;)

norton tries to kill other AV-Programs installed.
But normally its not that bad to have 2 AV Progs. (tip: only one of them should perform the active search for viruses ;) )
I had FreeAV and BitDefender 8 installed, everything worked. FreeAV was active as realtime-checker.
and before starting an exe i first checked it with the two.
