Well lets start with this. What role do u seriously play? Do u rush? are you good with aiming? Or maybe both? well if you answered yes to anyof the above, you are ready to learn hand gun
Utilizing speed. The handgun, other than the spydagger, is the only weapon allowing the user to run at 100% speed *not counting any ap/fp weapons. this is strictly pen related* So what does it mean to run at 100% speed? well if you were running against someone holding a P.S., you will be running 17% faster than them, allowing you to over take them and move faster. take for example you just started a td, and you need to get to the ball first. Assuming u dont get killed/shot/interrupted and both of you take the same path, the same start at the same time, you will reach the ball first. In essence, it increases you sp-dash distance ratio. technically you arent running longer, but farther. this means you have more sp for dashing and wall jumping or other actions. Also in TDs, do you know that ppl use some sort of melee dash into the goal? its a last dash thing. the hg speed and movement after all sp has been used makes up for that distance covered by the melee push in. Another thing that can be used with "push" guns is wall push for an extra boost in speed. Hug the wall with WASD controls, and with the mouse, try to shoot yourself. You will be shooting the wall, but the bullets arent doing anything for you. instead, the extending your arm and gun out will push you away from the wall when you shoot and give you a slight increase in speed.
Killing with Hg. basically the only reason you should use hg is for speed unless you got aim. Normal equips against normal equips without critical, the hg does a hefty 15-25 dmg per shot. the only draw back- its spread is pretty random, not like hmg, but it doesnt strictly stay on the dot, so its not effective against long range targets. Its only good against mid to close range. Its especially effective against melee users who missed or just about to chase you because of the push back. The push back is 3/4 of a full rev push. that means you can out push a rev within a few shots before the rev can shoot 3x. Hg doesnt spray like smgs, so you must be able to shoot ahead of the enemy if you want to hit them. Of course luck will come into play because of the random spray pattern.
