Pausing a process

hi guys n girls,

i need to pause the process of my laucnher in 2moons, but dont know how (googled, but only useless crap).

I need to pause it, do smth in folder and resume the process normally, so it dont updates again for example, just resumes where it stopped.
Would be nice if someone could help me or point into the correct direction.

can´t you do it with a debugger?
a debugger will allow you to stop the process at any point of run...
