Efficiency and dll Files

Hey everyone,

I am organizing a new source and I want to put the socket system in a dll. Is that going to cut into any of my efficiency?

Sincerely,
Fang

Loading external libraries will always cut at least a minimal amount of the execution speed/increase compiling time.

Considering the way .NET assemblies are handled, it won't decrease performance.

Ah! Thanks you two! =]
Would it be too much to put the writer, mysql handlers, and the annoying things I'm never going to edit in dlls?

Ok this is seriously the sort of question that needs to be googled, you can find white papers on this, experiences from coders who have been writing for 20 years, performance tests etc. Honestly you'll have a much greater grasp on things if you go out and research what you want to do and what you want to know, you could even perform your own tests to determine if using a .dll does hit performance or efficiency.

I tried Google. I wasn't sure what to search for. I thought I would ask some people with more experience than me.

Tried something like "external dll performance"?
I'm sure you find something and get your answer more quick than you would here.
