HOW TO MAKE A MULTI-CLIENT YOUR SELF

Yes I know their is a guide already out for this but it seems that a lot of people don't understand it and it has a few steps in it that you don't need anymore so I though I might break it down into some easier to understand instructions.

The original post I read was [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] if you want to check it out.

I hope my guide will help those who need a few more steps to help them along the way.

All you need to get started are:

1. Hex Editor
2. A Copy of Conquer.exe

Ok now Step 1:

Unpack the Hex Editor and open it.
Click File
Now open your Conquer.exe copy in what ever directory you have saved it in.

Step 2:

Now go to either Search, Find.....or click Ctrl+F.
Click the white round circle on the left side of "Text String".
In the long white box type in Fps:%d and click ok.

Step 3:

After you have clicked ok look for where it says English in the right column of letters.

Step 4:
Change the word English to Chinese by Clicking the square that has the E in English and then typeing the word Chinese as if you were typing in note pad.
Now all you have to do is now save and then put your Conquer.exe back to the Conquer 2.0 folder where your game is saved.

You will have to redo this every patch in order for it to work because TQ turns the Chinese back to English most patches.

Well done, thanks for the guide. I am finding that available resources on the machine goes a long way to determining how many windows one can have open.

one of my machines, a 1.4Ghz Athlon with .5Gb ram, only wants to run 2 or 3 windows before lagging and giving me the "Network is Congested" messages...the other machine, a 3Ghz Pentium something or other with 1Gb ram can run at least 5, i haven't tested more, and the fps and ping stay normal. gameplay also feels normal and not laggy.

+k for making a clearly written and helpful guide.

My computer is a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4 with 1gb ram and I've only tested with 7 windows but its stays fairly normal with game play with a unnoticeable change in ping and fps. I think their might be a limit of 8 windows per computer but I'm not 100% sure of this.:blah:
