Hello everyone, this entire guide has been rewritten to make it like (Vmware for dummies) =).

Now comes in a program called Vmware, it is a virtual PC software that makes virtual computers inside your current system, and is the only Vm product to support Direct3d, which is needed to run all the games

To download Vmware go to this site [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and on the bottom left corner of the page is a search box, type in Vmware and click on VMware-workstation-5.5.3-34685.exe you will see link at the bottom for both the main program and the key generator.
(some people use the browsers search feature.. that is not it so ignore it..)

Now thats enough of the introduction .. now on to the guide

Please make sure you have the following stuff ready ..

Windows XP Professional CD/Image (everyone who uses XP has this .. if i see someone don't have I'm going to laugh ..),
VMware-workstation-5.5.3-34685.exe with the key generator.

Now that you got those ready time to install Vmware, now its pretty understandable, Open the keygen when it asks for the serial in one of the boxes where it shows name etc and copy and paste it, and when you finish installing do not register the software just ignore it,
now that the software is installed we move on to the creation of the virtual machine.

Now open the program, you should now see 3 big buttons,
the only one you need to click on now is (New Virtual Machine),
once you have opened it you will be brought to a wizard, so click next,
you will now see a configuration type, select (Typical) <-- I personally don't use this one,

Now this is where you select your operating system,
its already selected on Windows so just pick (Windows XP professional) from the drop down list,

You will now arrive at the next page which is the naming of the virtual machine, leave it on the default
( Windows XP Professional ) since all my bots/scripts use this name to focus the window.
Now as for the location, you can leave it as default if you want.. we will need to go there later so remember it.

Now we are on the networking page, select the middle option
( Use network address translation (NAT), and press next.

Now we are on the virtual disk settings, for the disk size, put 8.0gb(this is enough),
and for the option check boxes select (Allocate Disk Space Now) and press next,
it will now set up the disk, it will take around 5 min or more.

Once thats done it brings you back to the main program window with the virtual machine controls,
click on (Edit virtual machine settings), and then you should see all the devices,
click on CD-ROM and on the right side of the window you will see 2 types of options you will be using,

(Use Physical Drive) if you have the CD
Or
(Use ISO Image) if you have the .iso, bin, cue or whatever the extension it uses.

select one and follow the directions.

once you have done that, press OK to save the settings and close Vmware,
(it auto loads last used so its good)

We will now enable Direct 3d support

remember that location i told you to remember .. you will need to go there now,
which should be,
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Virtual Machines\Windows XP Professional\

Once you are there open a file called (Windows XP Professional.vmx) in notepad/wordpad
and you will see a (nvram = "Windows XP Professional.nvram") somewhere at the bottom you will need to add 2 lines under this .. so it looks like this,

nvram = "Windows XP Professional.nvram"
mks.enable3d = "TRUE"
svga.vramSize = "67108864"

now thats done .. save the file and close it.

Open up Vmware now and make sure you have the cd/image in or loaded and start the virtual machine,
from here on its just like reinstalling windows .. i wont need to explain it .. just make sure to install
Vmware tools from the (VM) menu once you installed windows and your ON THE DESKTOP
since it is a program, now that should be about it .. hopefully no one should have trouble using it now.

Just to add some important info about resolutions, the game uses 1024x768 while the VM uses a lower one and the game will not run, you will need to click on (View) and De select (Auto fit Window/Guest)
this will stop it from changing the resolution automatically after you changed it in the display properties, so thats it ...

So here is ure multiclient, just u need to make it

EDIT: the stars r supposed to say "**************"

EDIT (again): u know what? nvm the link. here

Let me know if this has been said before, but as far as I know, I'm the only one who knows about this.

1. Make both accounts

2. open hero, but dont log in. press "start game", but stop at the log in screen

3. open task manager

4. search processes, find "Launcher.exe", and end the process (a warning will come up, just click yes)

5. run hero a second time

6. start the game, but stop at the login screen

7. go back to the task manager, and end "launcher.exe" again

8. now log in to both accounts at the same time/close to each other

**TIP holding alt then tab (Alt-Tab) will switch windows to make it easier to log into both accounts

this can be very useful as you can group level, powerlevel, or use the second account as storage or as a merchant.

want a easy way to MC? copy Hero online folder, make a shortcut of the launcher to your desktop and voila ! 2 clients ! both can be started at the same time... you can do this with every game
08/06/2009 11:44 schlat#15
why so complicated with vm or such things. just kill the launcher.exe process in the task manager and start the launcher again. or use my multiclient.
