Saw a post about runing out of range of pet to restore its life. you can also accomplish this by desummoning your pet with the dismiss pet command and recalling it in combat if u must. Only requirement is that your pet is out of combat. best for arenas when the other team is focusing on your pet. just dissmiss it and recall.

i have had it tons in arena against paladins who want mana so they use the judgment of wisdom on my pet and eventually kill it. rogue aswell attack it to try to kill it so they can restealth
