I had the prob when I first tried thiefing and got caught by hunter :(
You have an open quest which prohibits the use of scrolls.
Finish it and everythings fine ;-)

Look for your quests. There is some that do not allow you to use return scroll.

Yes -- If you have a quest that wants you to go to some other town it will not allow you to use a return scroll. If you abandon the quest you can come back to it later! So just abandon it and do the quest when you can. Those quests are easy xp.

100% u have Quest that u cant use scrolls.....try to finish it then start bot ...or abandon it and start the bot again ;)
