Hey Guys,

I though about starting to play FF XI, but since there is no free-trial with out buying it, I don't know wheter it's worth it or not.
Could some of you tell me if the game is good? I played L2 until know. though it's the best mmo ever, but it's starting to get boring...so i though about trying FFXI.

And the second question is what race and what class is best for a newcomer.
I looked up at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] about races and classes. I would like to play a Samurai in the later game, but I don't know what race is best for him and what 1st job is needed. Also it could be that Samurai is to hard to play for a newb.

I hope some one can answer and help me a little.
Thx in advance.

Hi Leute,

Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] alle angeschaut.

ffxi is a great game, but it is in a period of gradual decline at the moment. Also, the state of the economy at the moment makes it difficult for a new player to really get started, but this shouldn't present a huge problem.

Races are a secondary concern to player skill and equipment; don't put too much in it. For SAM, don't go Tarutaru (although they can still be excellent ones); hume or elvaan is good.

Start job; pick something you enjoy. By the time you've got a job to 50-60, you won't think twice about leveling a new one to 37. Good choices would be warrior and/or thief.

Biggest piece of advice I can give for the beginning is always use signet and save those beastman seals.

Thank you, for answering :)

Is the equiptment for Warrior and Samurai expensive if you compare them to equipment for other classes?

Well; every job has its expenses, but it really comes down to you can spend as much as you want to.

Generally speaking melee jobs (like war and sam) are more expensive than mage jobs (or rather mages can get away with being stingy easier), but cheaper than rangers and tanks, and bard is cheapest of the lot, but it shouldn't present a huge problem if you don't mind taking a little time on the way. You won't be pimp; but no-one ever is first time round.
