Making 2nd socket in high level gear

Ok, all my gear has 1 soc already. Some of it can still be leveled, but it will cost a db in the market. I want to know the best way to make a 2nd socket in my gear.

I know that rb'ing the items and metting them up works over time, but after the gear is high level you have to level it in the market because TC mostly fails.

So, here's what I would like to know:

1. Can you upgrade a gear with mets in TC even if a db is required in the market?
2. Is it possible to get a 2nd socket in TC even if the met upgrade fails, as it almost certainly will at high levels?
3. Is it possible to get a 2nd socket by spamming mets into gear that can no longer be leveled any further, such as level 112 earrings or a level 120 coat?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

1. No ( well actually it depends, if it is going 120+ then no, but armors like 100 to 110 works yes)
2. No
3. No

Tsu is correct except number two is yes.

Tsu is right assuming that the first guy was asking if it's possible to get a socket from a failed upgrade. He's wrong if the first guy was asking if it's possible to get a socket from a successful upgrade that previously failed.

Failed upgrades can still socket, I've done it before.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've got conflicting answers on whether a failed met upgrade can produce a socket, but I really don't know because I've never made one. :(

From this I gather that I should met the items up in TC until a db is required to level, and then go to market. Even though I'm going to fail hundreds of times I hope to get a 2nd socket like this.

best way is to rb all your gear and then up it.. with LT of corse

The key is water farming. Get normal socs, get them to highest lvl (below 110) and then reborn them. Do this over and over again and you'll eventually manage it. I say normal socs so that you wont spend thousands of mets. After all spending 4-12 DBs is something you can manage to super your 2soc if you farm.
I made my 1st 2soc (2 soc earrings) after the 4th reborn. But I must warn you, making a full 2 soc equipment will require lots of reborns.

Number 3 is impossible with any thing that is over lvl 115....well excluding earrings lvl 112 which just cant b upgraded xD

as he said normal sock... that is the best idea yet
