Vindictus voice mod?

I'm looking to get the Korean voices in the American client since NA's voice actors are the epitome of garbage.

I thought it would be as simple as swapping the .hfs files over, but it's not. I moved vindictus.exe, nmconew.dll, client.dll, server.dll and engine.dll files (and modified the NGM.txt file so it'd connect to NA's servers) over to the KR client's folder (core files). The voices were still in English, in fact, so was the text.

From my testing, the voices and text are downloaded off the server whenever you've connected. Options added to the KR client not yet in the NA client were not localized (they were just boxes, not Korean text, unlike the KR client itself, probably due to the font change or because the data was not on the localization server).

So, I'm assuming either packet editing will be necessary, or a modification of one of the files (server.dll?) which has links to retrieve audio from a server, which would be changed to point to the KR server. Whether or not that will affect the text also is something we'll have to find out.

This is all my assumption. I do not reverse engineer software, I just poke around and make observations. This task is, sadly, beyond my ability, and I must ask for assistance. I'm starting on this forum. Hopefully there's people who share my views and will want to get this accomplished.

Simple mod, use installer to extract the files to your sound folder and move 33211B8E7F131384F50DAA36062F4027E13D70E8.hfs to someplace safe like with most mods. after, the character sounds will be korean (and for those of you who like asian voices, this is a treat).

Oh no way.

I saw a post on Hongfire saying the voice mod was possible which made me check back here just now.

Thank you for providing that file. I don't have access to the game vixen forums because of my post count (first time visiting that site) so I can't see if there's an updated version. I haven't checked to see if it works, but still, thank you.

Edit: Apparently you need to be a donator to access their forums, great.

But you don't need to be one for this file (Luckily).

Is there a way someone can confirm this works... I extracted it and these new sound files do not work. Is it because the mod is outdated?

Ignore the last statement. The mod is still valid, you just have to remember to delete that 33211 whatever hfs everytime you patch, since patching replaces missing files.

Ok... there is obviously something i am doing something wrong,
i removed the 33211 file out of the hfs folder to a safe place (Out of vindictus), and also i extracted the file given in the sound folder as said... but right after that i tried starting the game and it wont even start, i would always get the message "File system error 35"
If i did anything wrong please tell me or maybe is there something i could do to fix this. i appreciate it ^_^

Yeah, I got the same message. It's an internal error. Nexon has patched something, that disables the game when one file from HFS is removed, thus not allowing the North American voices to be silenced; leaving the korean voice there in the sound folder, but not usable because the 33221 is still in tact and wont resort to it unless it is removed. Just notifying you all :)

Apologies for this necroing.

I haven't modded Vindictus EU in a while. Does the voice mod still works for EU?
Last time I tried it, a few months ago, it kind of didn't. At least not the method I was told.
