Heya EPVPS,
Anyone ever heard of IP Bans in Conquer Online?
For botting or hosting p servers?

Also i have Dynamic IP, if im ip banned and i just restart my router (so my ip is changed) can i play again?

I don't think they give out IP Bans,

For botting they put you in bot jail. And they can't know you have a pserv.
It depends on what kind of router you use.

Nope it doesn't, the IP will change every time you restart the internet connection/router.

Also with Netgear? I remembered the times I played Qonquer, and became ipbanned. Restarting router didn't work. Had to wait 1 day.

You're supposed to restart your modem not your router lol.

Your router just forwards connects to your modem, your modem is what talks to your isp directly

Not true, they do not give them out.

IP bans are really pointless anyways. It's like banning someone wearing a certain color shirt. More then just that person are affected, and they can easily change the shirt.

However, I have seen companies try to take botting websites to court, so I'd be careful about starting a large private server. But, because TQ is retarded, and doesn't care, I wouldn't worry.

Actually a router connects to the internet/acts as a modem, what you're talking about is a gateway and some routers are capable of working as a gateway that will connect you to a seperate modem/another router. Anyhow, using a router or a modem, just restart that.

Don't forget static and dynamic IPs, a lot of America has Static IPs and therefor may find it hard for the inexperienced user to get around it. But most of europe has Dynamic and therefore TQ would waste time on IP bans since its so easy to get around. Should just MAC address ban xD

Grabbing a MAC address w/out permission is illegal.

They'd just force permission in their ToS that practically no one reads.
