a possible way around this is to sell the username and password information to said account as well as the users personal information to the account. This is NOT owned by the game owner. I dont know what ebay would say to this but it is worth exploring.

Lol, technically its not legal to sell them anyway.

nah they are removing anything thats even remotely to do with virtual ownership. it's already been tried. and those sells where removed. so yep no selling on ebay. though there might be a opening for a new kind of sight. maybe someone could start a website totally dedicated to selling characters and trading. though the reason why ebay stopped account sells was they got sued by a bunch of gaming companies. there you go.

sorry but thats nice idea but unfortuanately epvp isn't the world wide end all when it comes to gaming info. ebay was the best for one reason. you could vend alot of characters and at a low cost. which meant you maximized your profits. seriously there where guys who hiring illegals to do only one thing all day long on games like dark age of camelot, wow, and other mmo games. now they got no place to sell all these multiple accounts. in reality man epvp wont tolerate someone listing that kind of weight on their forums. there would be too much traffic. you need a auction site like ebay thats not afraid to get sued. now you see the problem there is no one out there willing to take that kind of heat.

-maybe ebay think it's time for those lazy ass people to get their own chars , hunt and work hard for it...

-maybe MMO gaming is having a big issue like having a TAX on P2P and probably more... and they dont want to be a part of it...

-or maybe its b'coz of a lot of people selling an account is scammers and ebay is get to blame?

just some facts im not sure.... fuck this sh*t!!

I can understand the step made by Ebay... 'Illegal' selling/sharing killed many used programs, but its like buying CD's and Games on cons... They just charge TOO much for it.

Average price for a CD in Europe: ?17,- <<< insane...
Average price for a DVD: ?7-25,- <<< not inc. brand new ones that just are out 1 week...
PS3/360/Wii Game: ?50-70,- <<< note that about... 20 games is a brand new next-gen PC...

I can understand the artists rights and the copyright rules... But Ebay is just covering their behinds to not end up like, just pick a share prog: Kazaa...

If you want to sell your chars for money, you should just log off, run, drive or cycle to your local newspaper. You would be outside more and get some sunlight...

And I guess there will be a new site coming out somewhere... at some point in time :)

true but at the same time it's interesting to see big moves like this. i find it quite fascinating when a auction giant like ebay. makes such an unexpected statement. will this mean that they wont allow the sell of program disks as well. i mean seriously this kind of action could very well stop people from selling cd's of games and operating systems as well. cause technically that is intellectual property.

i think this kind of thing will be interesting to see unfold. further more yea your right the kind of heat they got on them was unreal. sony was suing them, as well as microsoft. which funny enough microsoft was a partner in wow. they stopped the sell of wow accounts and items and gold in feb. 06. i mean seriously this is some wild stuff. i think the news crews should get ahold of this story and investigate it. yet i think alot of people dont understand how big online gaming has become. it's literally a billion dollar business.
