My internet keeps on getting blocked.
I cannot get access to internet.
My ip is good. the computer can detect the modem.
I can ping through my own modem.

JUST CANNOT PING TO OTHER WEBSITES.

The main problem is that i do not receive any bits from my modem.

Anyone have ANY ideas of fixing it, i'd be very grateful.

Thank you.

Its not like that...
it is like it has a timer. Ever day at 5:30 flat, the network opens. ----------------OR--------------------- Takes my dad less than 10 seconds to unlock it.

I know the secrete is somewhere in there, which takes less than 10 seconds. Just some clicking on the mouse is enough for my dad.

Thx anyways, man

It could always be a DNS error.
I am on a router, so I type in my router IP to check what I need, and then change it on my Network Connections options.
xxx.xxx.x.x is what my DNS looks like, but with #s of course:P

okay... how can i fix it?
01/26/2007 07:51 KatsuAkimoto#6
Well, (Thinks about how to do it on Windows)
Go to start, Run.
Then type in "cmd.exe", press go, enter, or w/e it says to "accept what you entered".
The, in the window that comes up, type "ipconfig/all", and press enter.
Look to where it says "DNS", and see if it shows anything. If not then you have a problem.
To find DNS, well, first off do you have a router?

i have the DNS. its X.X.X.X

All single digit? hmm, most interesting.
Go to Control Panel, Network connections.
Then on your network connection that you use to connect to the internet, right click and choose properties.
In the window that pops up, choose TCP/(Forgot the other one, but its at the bottom so you should find it) and then choose properties from the button on the bottom right.
It should say stuff about "Find an IP automatically" and "Find a DNS automatically".
If you currently have an internet connection, (And it seems you do), then type "Enter DNS mnaually", or w/e, and type in the DNS you got from ipconfig/all.
Choose OK, OK,OK until ur out.
This will keep ur DNS constant, so if your internet works now it should forever unless you cable or w.e is unplugged or you didnt pay the Internet bill haha~

Append on Jan 27 2007, 05:51
oh, btw, wut does DNS mean?
01/27/2007 23:43 KatsuAkimoto#10
Sorry was gone for a day:)
DNS is Domain Name Server, it is the IP address of the person that provides your internet. Without these, you would not get an internet connection.

@ coup haha Jesse, your internet's still locked????

btw, his dad uses fortinet to lock it, just for some ppl who might help him
01/28/2007 00:14 KatsuAkimoto#12
Oh well then that changes everything...
01/28/2007 00:28 site#13
well, you'see i keep telling him to uninstall fortinet and that by getting rid of the fortinet firewall the prob wwould be fixed, but he's too afraid that his dad would screw him over for doing it
01/28/2007 00:54 KatsuAkimoto#14
Well, why did his dad put it on anyway? And how does it work, does it have a password or just a simple "Turn on, turn off" button? If it has a password, I'm sure I could find a way to find that password, but if it does not, then why not just turn it off:) That, and there is a way to leave just enough of the program on the computer so that Windows thinks that it is installed, but really it is not. There are a few options for him, and with a little more information I'm sure we can overcome this:)
