Is it possible to run 2 or more servers on one pc? Maybe using different drives or something? Or would you have to use another pc completely?

you can always partition your hard drive and have one in each- but to run two smoothly you would have to have one amazing computer, also enough internet that one doesn't leg the other out. and of course if it isn't linked servers you will need to have two different I and port settings for each or one will interfere with the other.

hmm so then basically, link the servers or u might as well just have them on different pc's?

Guess it all depends on the effort you want to put into doing it and even with linked servers in the same SQL Database, you will need a good cpu to handle it. That way they are using the same exe and they will be able to click which server they wish to go to.

I wanted to open an extra for testing purposes only, but all my pc's have the same IP address so I can't open it unless I use it through hamachi I believe which is okay with me because it's a test server however, the idea of making a linked server with it intrigues me :P

I run 2 on 1 PC using VMWare Virtual PC's I have it set to choose the server from 1 login but no linked battlezone. because 1 is 20x and 1 is 200x
VMWare Virtual PC's have another advantage they take a full snapshot every hour so any mistakes cause no more than a 1 hour rollback
But i do run a quad core I7 and 12 GB DDR3 to run it smoothly
To run one for testing server use the Network IP to connect to it instead of the external IP
Edit i forgot to mention i use 1 databse except the MSSQL database server is running on a different PC
Also i use Allwaysync once a week to make a complete backup of all Virtual PC's during maintenance in case of drive or computer failure.
