Hi Folks,
its been a long time since my last post.

I'm currently writing a windower for FFXIV (as it has almost the same issues as FFXI :rolleyes: ) and need some feedback.

1) What it does
- Alt-Tab from a pseudo fullscreen, so you don't get the DirectX error message again
- No more crashes due UAC, Ctrl+Alt+Del or anything else that let you lose the DirectX device (exception: driver crash)
- FFXIV runs a bit faster (about 5%, need feedback) than in the build in window mode

2) What still needs to be done
- Finish plugin interface
- Write a proper launcher

3) Requirements?
- FFXIV :p
- Windows Vista or Windows 7 - the way it is working it can never work on pre DirectX 10 systems

4) What do you need?
- Feedback (feature requests, errors, bugs & co)

5) HowTo:
- In FFXIV settings activate window mode
- In FFXIV settings set window size to desktop resolution (this step is optional - when you don't set it to full res WindowerXIV will only fix the DirectX erros and leave the rest alone)
- Start launcher, set the path to your ffxivboot.exe and press Launch

thanks man nice program! I did have 1 bug though. I actually like running my game at 1920x1080 even though my monitor is 1920x1200. This way I can see my clock and task bar while I'm playing in window mode. I noticed that I can't run it at a lower resolution because your program will blow up the DPI of the game to my max resolution. The problem is the game still thinks it is at the smaller resolution so where the game thinks the cursor is and where I see the cursor are off.

Anyway to keep the resolution of what I set in the game's config?

Thx for making this. I haven't used it yet, because of SE closing the website. However I plan on using it just a quick question if I could. :) When we use your windowerxiv, does it alter the game any server side? Or is it all client side? Why I ask this. With this being a huge release of a new game I am seeing many bots/hacks/even phone apps! The only hacks I have seen actually inject or alter .dll.

Aside from if I choose to hack or not hehe I just like to know how safe and what exactly I'm using! If you could reply here just incase others are wondering. :)

Well, it is client side only but can be detected like most stuff.

I have a not detectable version (well, lets say very very hard to detect version), but not planing to release it anymore, because this game sucks sooooo bad and I don't want to help SQEX with fixing their bugs. Also it seems to me that the FFXIV community is even more retarted than the FFXI one :O

The game sucks indeed.. I can't even find out how to get a damn account without buying the overpriced disk - and for that reason am not playing..

games def not worth it, made it to 15pug/17char and I really have no itch to play, so much for collectors edition. <3 FFXI windower
