Looking for a content developer/feature editor, will pay handsomly

My names Dave and I am a professional web marketeer/designer for the past 12 years or so. I previously ran a large world of warcraft server but due to Blizzard making my life very difficult I ended up closing after about 5 very successful years of service. I am now setting up a conquer server and am highly confident after doing some research that I can create one of the biggest sites of its kind but what I lack is knowledge of coding and this particular emulator. I want to hire a content developer, feature editor and just general coder for my server and I am willing to pay a percentage of the profits for that service. Percentage is variable dependant on what you are bringing to the table. I am not entirely sure how much money is involved but as a basis, When my last warcraft server had around 300 people online i would make up to 600 euros a day, when it averaged about 100-200 I would make on average 100-200 euro per day. So if you are interested send me a message saying a bit about yourself and your skills and what you can do. I am looking to launch in the beta phase at least by the last days of this month!

Seems like a rather large profit estimate... fairly few players will be willing to donate to a pserver ad most who will will only do small amounts (5-10)

I have no idea what qonquer was making but one of the big binary servers was something like $3000 per month. That's considered very high amounts of profit for a co private server.

Thats not an estimate of future profits, just saying what my old server used to make. Unfortunately I really don't understand the monetization of conquer just yet but obviously it's quite possible to make fairly decent money with it, especially to someone who is maybe still in college and does this as a hobby in which case this could really give them more cash than anyone else they know of a similar age. My old server was set up with the intent of making maybe a couple hundred dollars a month to get me through university but it exploded! So hopefully I can do the same here :) One thing ive also learned is you should give back to the hand that feeds you, ie the emulation community so my aim would be first to help myself and those involved and then hopefully give back with some of our own developments and improvements on the emulator if I'm lucky enough to find a coder who is capable. Also everyone(almost) customer service, event gms, donation handlers and anyone else I may be forgotten about will also all recieve a percent of profits.

So I should just point out... unlike wow there is no emulator you can use for conquer that you can just download and start coding features for.

To run a proper, successful private server you need someone who can write the entire emulator from scratch. Aka what I'm doing with my current server and almost any successful server has already done. The servers that are failing all the time that you see all over the place are the ones running the horrible public sources.

The exceptions being immune, hybrid and impulse's sources which contain no features or game systems programmed at all (usually just general logging into the game and little more)

So none of the current top servers are just running the elite-cosetup with added features they have found on this forum amongst others? I really do want to get a coder to help me here but I can do the basic stuff myself for the time being just till its setup a little if I must... obviously as you have said though it would be much better if I had this from the start. Another possible options... I could offer money to pay to use someones private emulator if it was worth it but right now there is very little investment money for this project which is why I thought it would be better to try and make a relationship with someone longterm so we can both benefit.

that is around the peak. The 2 outgoing payments at the top were 2 my donation handlers. Weekly wage.

So is nobody interested? This is the last request I will make for a coder before moving to a new game. I cannot do this without the help of a coder. I cannot stress enough though what an opportunity wasted this is for some person. My last assistants I was paying on wowtopia.net my last game which lasted years but recently i let go due to becoming unprofitable because of various problems(some legal) were making hundreds of euros some weeks in commission and i might add that was with a max of 25% commission. I'm willing to offer here at least 20% for my coder and more dependant on what he is going to bring to the project and in the future when I have less work to do more so again.

I need a server that is a levelling server that also allows pvp. It needs to be able to handle hundreds of players and not crash more than once every few hours on average. Oh and preferably the option to make custom items.

If you can offer me this I guarantee you I can offer you a great source of income for at least the next year as long as nothing major happens to have us close down.

Well me and arco had a good chat with you on msn yesterday. As i said then, if my server gets to a marketable stage i could possibly be willing to hire you or some other webdesigner/advertiser but that's months off and i'd deff be hiring and not BEING hired seeing as it's my server.

Sadly arco has had some stuff come up irl and won't be able to help out with the server plus starting school again so it may be pushed off even more

Any coder worth hiring wouldn't want to take orders from you, they'd make their own server and money. All (from this section) you'd get is most likely bad coders.

I'm not a private server dev, but when it comes to talking about money people like to see numbers before they'll even consider it.

If you can promise a certain pay to someone, (like a deposit on an apartment) i'm sure you'll get more offers. But saying i'll give you 20 percent of what I make doesn't really attract attention.

I wouldn't do it myself, I don't like private servers, but just saying.

Im not looking to give anybody orders. I'm offering someone the chance to run their server how they like it and I will send it tons of players, although id like to have some input on how to best monetize it so which style of server, mainly levelling is what im going for so I need to find someone with similar beliefs. I will pay for a dedicated server, I will bring them players, I will give them a share of the money which nearly guaranteed will be more than they would make at a first attempt on their own. A prime example would be wowscape world of warcraft server. They persuaded 13 year old Burlex to join their server as their coder. They made the best server and ended up amounting at least! 3 million usd but it was more but the government could only account for that much. I don't know of any teenage boy with the business experience to run a project like that on his own and i've taken 13 years (since i was a 13 year old) to get to the point im at now which is basically I can't quite call myself an seo or marketing guru but I am damm good as well as the business side of things which I learned quite a bit at university and some from running business's. I currently manage a large commercial Muay Thai gym in Thailand
and well all im saying is ive got expertise in marketing and business and i will be running things like a real business and making money. Not getting pitiful amounts like having hundreds of players on all day and only making 3000 usd a month like some of the numbers thrown around here that seem to impress people. Imagine having a shop where you get 2000 people in a day and only make like 50 bucks? If youre smart you can monetize. Anyhow rant over! lol. It seems nobody has a sufficiently good emulator quite ready so my new direction is launching another game first which will be from the same domain that I'm going to eventually have 2 games running from. Im going to spend my time on that and in a bit of time when things are more ready I will show what I have done with that website and see who wants to get on board the instant money making machine :) Pro4never unless you want full access to a subdomain of my full domain then I guess we can't really work together on this one but perhaps I can help with your project later anyhow. Since you have made an effort to be helpful with me :) If you would be interested in http:yourdomain.mydomain.com with full control and access to upload to the dedicated server for testing your beta etc then let me know. I will have it online in about 3 weeks exactly and this would be for free but obviously only if you liked the idea long term.
