Old School Dupe Hack

01/03/2007 00:30 Clyps#1
EDIT: This dupe exploit has been tested by our fellow epvp members and they claim it doesnt work anymore, but feel free to try it out.

Im not putting this one in the exploit section since im not sure if it still works.

And this is my first thread so go easy on me aight?

When i was playing a couple of years ago, me and a friend of mine used a dupe hack/exploit. It worked like a charm back then, not sure if it still works today.

Ill explain the procedur and hopefully some of ya'll will try it out and tell us if it works or not.

..............
Ok what you need is 2 chars, One of the characters must be strong enough to 1 hit kill the other (this is a must). Ill call the chars Trojan, and noob.

First off you need to get to a secluded area, I prefered CastleGate 2nd map by the little town there.

Jump both chars there and put whatever you want to dupe in Noobs Inventory
(Lets say youre duping a Superbow)

Next, Use the Noob to open a trade window with the Trojan and put in the superbow

Press accept with the Trojan but do not press accept with the Noob just yet.

Heres the hard part,
You need to kill the Noob with your Trojan and right when he dies, accept the trade on the noob. Youll have to have them perfectly synced for it to work.

And if it works the noob will drop the superbow on the ground (since it had the bow in inventory) and the trojan will get the superbow through the trade.
Viola 2 superbows
.................

BTW Dont use a low level noob char, cuz noobs under level 15 don't drop items. Use a level 40 miner or something, and dont forget to make the noob char bluename before you kill it, or you'll end up with lotsa pk points lol.
It took me and my friend a good 40 tries before it worked, just so you know.

As I said, it worked years ago, and I dont know of anyone other than us that used it. So sorry in advance if it has been posted before. Plus dont flame me if it doesnt work, cuz I dont know, I dont play much and cant be bothered to try it out.

Well, somone try it please! If so ima have alot of super +4 clubs ;)
01/03/2007 04:42 AlmostxUntitled#4
like he said, sounds too easy but hey we'll see :D
EDIT : Nope trade fails and instead of the noob dropping the item, it just goes back in his inventory

Anyone else have luck?

i highly doubt this will work because once a packet is sent to the server, and the server lets the item drop, the item will be gone, and when it recieves the packet that says to trade it, it wont be there to trade. ><

i mean i dont know too much about the internal workings of a server, but i guess if the server were able to process both packets at the same EXACT time, it may be able to do both. but im pretty sure we are talking sub-nano seconds here, would take alot more than 40 trys :(

lol maybe him and his friends were really lucky and although the method sounds logically good, I doubt it would work due to the required amount of skill needed from the player to click the mouse at the exact rite time. Also another problem with this method is that if the noob is killed it is not always 100% that he will drop the item that ur trying to dupe so this decreases the chance of sucess even more.

Or use a bot and 2 clients would be easier... AutomationAnywhere FTW

- Don't believe it would work. But if TQ let a glitch roam for a few months letting you use XP skills non-stop who knows what else they missed...

Yea its true the noob has to drop the item, and its like a 50/50 chance it will. Hmm, try with more than one item maybe, the chances should be higher then.

And im thankful to you guys who tried it, it worked years ago i swear, we duped alot of +4 bows on dragon, if they patched someone musta leaked it, though i didnt know anyone but me and my friend knowing about it back then.

And during that time when we duped there was alot of lag, TQ only had the Dragon server back then and there was ALOT of people on. Duno if that has anything to do with it but yea.

Just tryina contribute something to the forums hehe, sad thing it doesnt seem to work anymore :(

I think this is designed purely to waste people's time... Don't you think the economy would be a little different if people could just dupe mets/dbs/+1s?
01/03/2007 18:30 Hodyon#14
Let me know when you are going to try this so I can pk your noob and steal all the stuff he drops oh no wait I mean so I can just watch.

Just thinking if you try this you better watch out.
01/03/2007 19:57 Laserman#15
ahhh didnt see it coming...lol u got me there
of course its just for him to pk that noob!
Thx guys for not telling me how stupid i am for believing him :)
