Multiclient program: Boon or Bane?

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not trying to flame, demean, or disrespect anyone, but I want to have a discussion about potential problems I have observed with the use/abuse of the multiclient program. I respect the work put in by the creators. It's an excellent program and I can see the purpose it serves, but I wonder if the abuse of the multiclent program is the reason why CO has made an increased effort to squash the bots. I've been playing CO for about 9 months and the particular server I'm on has always been yellow or red since I started playing, save for a couple minutes right after system maintenance. This past week, until the new multiclient was released, my server has been mostly green and yellow only at peak times.

I believe the abuse of the multiclient has precipitated the need by CO to make a harder attempt to squash bots. We all know that CO isn't completely anti-bot; they wouldn't have created bot jail if that was the case, they just would suspend accounts. The multiclient presents a problem that makes them have to worry about server congestion, which makes them have to try and do something to alleviate the problem. As of this morning, there were 10k hits on the multiclient (and it's probably grown since the last time I checked) and if half of the people exploit the client to full potential, that's 45k or so characters on servers, which completely congests the servers I'm not sure what the server capacity is on CO servers, but I'd have to assume with my observations, that it's a problem.

Once again, I'm not trying to dis people who use the program or the creators, I just wanted to voice my opinion on the topic and see how other people feel.
