Well I attempted Q's way of doing it and although quick and simple it kept giving me that stupid error, sooo what i did was i had the folder for the CO TQ client thus i manually downloaded the patches up to the current one, then made a copy of it renamed the copy Qonquer, Downloaded the server.dat file into the new Qonquer folder and changed the version.dat to 9999 so that it does not autopatch. If u need me to go into more detail dont hesitate to ask. Note: this is the longer work around but so far ive been in game without a single problem.
Edit:Ok i mean if you have a copy of the Conquer2.0 (the original TQ's client untouched, if its not up to patch 4333 update it till it is) then once its up to patch 4333, make a copy of it by right clicking copy then right clicking paste wait a few minutes once its done rename the new copy Qonquer(get rid of the old Qonquer folder) download the server.dat from this link: [Only registered and activated users can see links. save it to the Qonquer folder then u will see a file in there called version.dat, open the file with notepad or wordpad and the number should be 4333, change this number to 9999.[/b]
Once you get to login screen click on the first server group(Fairy Tales) and there should be a server named Qonquer without an icon present. Click on this server and once you've done that simply login and enjoy=)
