mage PvP tips

sorry, i know im not suposed to post questions here but... hopefully in the end the post will become useful as a guide..
i was just wondering how to PvP with a mage everytime i try and go in 2 v 2 battle in arena i die non stop i am lvl 50 and have all my points in fire spec atm because i belive its best for PvE.. does anybody have any tips for me or have these guides to help me? thanks
