itemtype.dat

In Conquer you can equip two backswords by changing the itemtype.dat
so, like you have the item name then the item data and item type. Now sinse it's possible to change the id of a backsword into a sword... My question is; can you change a pole axe into an earing or a sword to increase attack, or maybe wielding two pole axes? I know it's possible I just want to know the basics of editing the .dat file so I can do this... any help is very appreciated.

basically "changing items" isnt possible unless you hack there server...blah blah blah... its just not possible

I believe that weapons are all client sided except for the level and special things it may contain, I'm talking about changing the id of a weapon such as a wand to a sword to maybe fool the server? It's possible to do all of this in qonquer I know it's possible I just want to know how to change the things. Like a hex editing tutorial on how to make a 2 handed weapon into a sword or something.
