A variation of the COD letter scam.
Simply make your letter look like a gold sellers letter.

Sorry For the Delay
COD for any amount - but make it at least 99gold and it doesnt have to be a rounded amount
99-3999 with 99-399 being optimal i would say
Blue present.. Red is a danger colour - also works with a gold bar
Again only a percentage of people will fall for this- buit it worksd on numbers - so send a lot - send when people are tired - send when they are pissed or stoned - or likely to be- send to one guild all at once over 1-2 days - esp after they have come back from a long raid.
The reason this works - is becasue people think the gold selling company has made a mistake - they get excited - it distracts their attention from the fact it was a cod in the first place - and they just click the warning screen and hey presto - you got the cashg.
