Is there a way to mine better gems or just to mine gems faster?? Does lvling your pixaxe lvl help with mining or is it all just random??

dnt know bout that yet. im stll leveling proficiency. by now its level 11. btw, i use 2 sock hoe. i mined a couple of artifacts with it when proficiency was jst level 1. ill get back to mining as soon as i max out proficiency and see how it goes.
