renaming character

Is there a way to rename your character in the game?

actually yes. its a pain in the a** though.
you have to cancel your character. get a new acct on the same server (or have a friend buy a content id) and make a mule with the deleted characters name.
then reactivate your acct.
you wont be able to use the old name, and will have to rename your old character.
then just dump the mule.

and no i havent tested this. this is just the way i have seen this described as how to be done.

OMFG that makes so much sense! I didn't even think to have someone else name a mule the original name! F**K, that sucks.

I did the delete part and called POL who then told me that they would take a little while getting it back. And I told them the name and he came back but with the name and I wanted to rename.

Another question then. If you have deleted a character once and had him brought back. Can you do the same thing a few months later? Or is there something in your record that shows you are an impulsive deleter, lol and they won't find your character for you again?

this doesnt work right from the get go but i think it may work after the character's time is up that you have paid for. I did cancel the account i wanted to rename and then proceeded to use a friends account to make a mule with that char's name. it told me that the name was in use and couldnt be used. I did notice that i had until a certain date to play before i would have to renew the character so perhaps after that time has passed the name becomes fair game. I'll have to experiment and find out.
