Looking for a programmer to help me make a PServer

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure this is the place to post this.

So, I'm pretty experienced running events, advertising, I know what players like and want.

But I have NO IDEA about programming.

I don't know what else to say... I am looking for a good English speaking person that knows how to program to help me make a private server (and host it). After that, I will take care of the website, advertising, events, new GMs and GSs and if he/she wants to do all that stuff, he/she can help with it.

There's a condition, well a few:

1) Must speak English well enough to communicate, and so the players understand it.

2) Must NOT under any circumstance close the server. All you need to do is make it and host it (if you want to help ofc.), you can be in-active unless there's a system problem. During such issues, the other GMs can help or I'll try to reach you if you will be avialable.

3) Well, its obvious the person needs to be able to make and host the server, and modify the server, example that OI is open 24/7. Stuff like that.

That's basically it.

ummm let me see if I got this right, you want someone to do the programming, host and maintain server(which is 99% of the work) and you want to call it your server? I think not, lol

umm seriously even if someone was willing to do this, are you sure you want someone else to be able to access "your" server? what if you piss him/her off? what if you don't pay them their part? i mean look at it on a players' point of view:

join new server
everything seems good, donate for AP/SP/DP whatever it will be called
log into server later and find it is shut down

seriously this is a BAD idea

Ok first you go in looking not to get paid there are some people that program for the fun of it.

Ill be more the happy to help build the server. Wondering what i can do well

I can Set up the database
Hex edit
I can use ollydbg im working now on figureing out how to change the stats for modes. Yeah im a little behind on date but im tring to catch up.
I know Sql database and how to edit the store procedures.

Im not askign for payment or anything like that. All im asking for is a GM spot in server and i dont want to run it.

Sorry guys but I do not recall saying its ''MY SERVER''. I said everyone that helps gets GM status, I wont call it my server... Have you seen a server built and ran by one person? I think not. That kind of server would be pretty sucky, hence, you need more people to maintain.

You can't have one person online 24/7, and even if he/she could be online 24/7 he/she could not solve all the problems, read all the posts. I can be on like 6 hours daily, or more, then someone else has to step in. That's a example, btw.

And, if someone knows how to setup a PayPal account, they can - payment would be nice but I'm doing this for fun and the players, not EVERYONE wants to get paid...

Seriously, listen carefuly to what others are saying. You taken it as negativity but it isn't. It is true spoken words. players want security and I see many security issues in your plans.

On a second note, many people (including myself) build and maintain their own server. It has taken me almost 3 months to get Ultimate Shaiya to where it is today. I have a great staff but they maintain the game from within only.

I love how everyone thinks running a server is so easy. Getting the server up and running is just a stepping stone. It's by far the hardest server I have tried to maintain and I've ran a few. The files are buggy. The scripts are buggy. There is exploits to sort out. It involves many, many man hours. On top of that you have overhead. Monthly cost to maintain this server. On top of all this you must keep an eye on everything all the time. Keep your player base intrested. And be creative. Best of luck!

I never said it was easy, I know it is not easy thats why I don't bash on not too good servers.
