Getting Started with COAP - Hunting Tutorial

08/15/2006 01:33 ChodaBoy#1
The below guide is for Conquer Online Auto-Pilot, COAP, available at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].

As most hunting is performed as using an archer, this guide will show you how to set up an archer to automatically hunt for items. The best hunting experience can be achieved within Adventure Zone, as all drops (minus potions and such) will be worthwhile. Using COAP, you can easily anticipate a bountiful hunting session... while you're not there.

First and foremost, always log into Conquer Online before opening COAP or any other software you have downloaded.

Conquer Online Auto-Pilot requires that the Show Names option within Conquer Online be set to ON for use.
To turn this on, select the Options button within Conquer Online and check the box next to "Show Name".

Open Conquer Online Auto-Pilot and create a new profile by right-clicking on the Profiles branch of the left-most tree and selecting the option "Add New".

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Enter a name for the profile to identify the profile within the Profiles branch of the tree, select the character type "Archer", and press the "Next" button to begin configuring other options. Make sure that if your character is within a guild, you select the option to denote that.

For this example, we plan on hunting AlienApes. Move to the "Attack" tab to modify your attack configuration. As you selected "Archer" as your character type, the Right Click Attack option has already been selected for you.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Within the "Attack Action (F Key)" option, enter the F Key you current have associated with the Scatter Skill.

The "Attack All Mobs" will be checked by default, but since this is a popular area - 'attacking all' will have you chasing people's guards, switch to "Only Attack the Following Mobs" and select the color Green (if AlienApes are not green to you, move elsewhere to hunt).
Enter at least 'Ali' into the Name(s) of Mobs entry to ensure yet again that you are not attacking people's guards. A list of one or more mob names is required when attacking by color.

On the Miscellaneous tab, make sure that your arrows are set to the correct F Key Assignment.

Since these mobs should only be hitting you for 1, and you would want to conserve space in your inventory, we have unchecked the option "Manage Health Potions" as we do not have any on the character.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

At this point, we now need to determine the path your archer will be taking by specifying a series of coordinates to follow. You want to make sure that your character is encompassing a full spawn area, especially since Scatter has the tendency to kill mobs off-screen.

Within the Paths branch on the left tree, right-click and select the option "Add New".
As before with your profile, enter the Path Name to identify the path from the listings within COAP and a description if desired.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Since your character is already logged in, go to your favorite AlienApe spawn and begin entering the coordinates, as found on the top-left of your Conquer Online window, that you would like your character to cycle between. For this example, make sure to "over buffer", meaning move your character and record the coordinates of a point a bit past, maybe a full screen past, the actual position you would like to be before moving on to the next point.
Keep in mind that your character will cycle the points - once you have reached the last point, you will go back to the first point and start over. The coordinates specified within the above screen shot create a zig-zag pattern through a spawn area.

At this time we suggest you spend a while hunting manually, noting the items that are being dropped. These apes drop a wealth of health and mana potions, all of which we need to be ignored. To begin the configuration for ignoring these items, create a new item list by selecting the Item Lists branch, right-click, and select "Add New".

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

As before, enter the List Name to identify this list from the other item listings. Begin entering the items that you DO NOT wish to pick up within the Items text area.
As with all entries of names, you only need specify the first-part partial, such as entering 'Pa' will include both PainKillers and Panacea. The shorter the length of text you enter, the faster and smoother the process will run.

With your coordinates and item list in place, it's now time to complete your profile's configuration. Select your newly created profile from the tree on the left and move to the Movement tab.

Most options selected should be used by default; however, select the option "Use Predefined Path" rather than moving in random patterns. Once selected, select your newly created path from the available drop-down list.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

To implement the Item List you previously created, move to the Drops tab. Leaving All Drops, as you have seen by manual hunting, will quickly fill your inventory with useless potions. Select the option "Except" and select your newly created item list from the drop-down list. This will ensure that the items on that list will be ignored.
Remember, if you missed a type of potion or item that you do not want to pick up, you can simply pause COAP, add that item to the listing, and start once again.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Your configuration is now complete and it's now time to save. Simply press the Save button located on the top-right corner of COAP. With your configurations saved, you will never need to enter this information again.

To start the process, COAP must be able to find the Conquer Online window. Click on the binoculars on the top-left corner of COAP. If you only have one instance running, it will automatically find it. If you have multiple clients open, you will be prompted to select the desired client window and stay on that window for 5 seconds while COAP locates it.

With your newly created profile selected from the branch and the Conquer Online window found, you may press the Start button, or use the PAUSE key on your keyboard if you are within Conquer Online to start and stop the process.

Additional options may greatly help your efforts. Moving back to the General tab of the profile, you may want to gain some VP while out hunting. To do so, create a team and select the options "Handle Team Invitations" and "Accept All Invitations". You will then accept all noob requests to join your team. Whilst here you may also fine-tune the Response Delay to make your character appear more and more natural.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Also, within the Offsets tab within the profile, you'll find an option to Clear Screen. Selecting this option and specifying which hotkey you've assigned for the Clear Screen Action (set within Conquer Online from Options->Hotkey->L. Button) will force a clear screen before reading the screen, removing all forms of text and increasing COAP's item and mob search breadth.

Code:
A Notice to Would-Be Hackers.
The Evaluation Edition of Conquer Online Auto-Pilot is designed to only work for short periods of time, so thus, hacking our software has been anticipated and accounted for. We have included several lines of defense to counter efforts by would-be hackers, and would just like to remind all those who may try of the following:

Conquer Online Auto-Pilot may control every aspect of your character and gaming experience while you are away. It's a very simple process to suddenly, a month or two after attempting to hack our software in the middle of the night, unequip all of your items - dropping them on the ground, spam the Service channel with "I'm a bot" a few times, and then log you off.

If you have found a hack for our software, then we strongly suggest using the guidelines posted in our Safety Considerations as the hackers may have imposed new functionality that could be harmful to you.

And as a final note, we have, of course, implemented a kill switch. One swift email to the developers of Conquer Online could easily disable all users of Conquer Online Auto-Pilot. Please, don't ruin the fun for everyone.
they made all much better then copartner with marketing and stuff !!
and this software is more configuarable and good to use !!

This post is directed towards Chodaboy.

Obviously you are apart of the company, may I ask as to whether this bot will progress further, into something similar like BJX?

If this bot extends into something quite unique and intelligent, I would be quite willing to pay the fee.

This is nice bot but cracking is the another problem :D
08/15/2006 17:10 ChodaBoy#9
To Hiddenlife5009:
I'm ashamed to say it - I do know of BJX but have never seen exactly what it can do. Searching through the forums and google, I can find no information on it's logic or any screen shots. For any particular request you have of the software, you can email us directly using the email addresses found within "Contact Us" on the bottom of any page at botigami.com or by submitting the form within support. We did not intend to use this forum in the slightest and I only started posting in response to another's.

None the less, we have a lot of development left to complete and our list of hopeful features and abilities are growing every day. Unfortunately, all developers and staff within Botigami are also doing other things, and our priorities are based upon revenue. The more sales COAP achieves, the more new functionality you can expect.

And to beezee:
Botigami uses share-it! as a third party payment center, meaning that no one within the company ever sees your credit card information or knows what payment arrangements you have made. share-it! even allows you to pay with cash and even submit your order via fax, though this would delay the purchase process. Once you add COAP to your shopping cart you will be able to verify that the payment party is VeriSign Secured.

it's lix's pixel bot he just updated it a bit, haha
08/25/2006 21:27 beezee#11
so chodaboy how are sales going? if it starts to take off that mean that your company will work even harder to upgrade this bot, which is what i want to hearconsidering paying money for something that will become outdated in a few monthes is kinda pointless. anyway i wish you luck in this endevour since tq is all about the money at 16 usd per db pack this bot would be a steal at only 20 usd, this is if it is/becomes what the guide depicts
08/26/2006 00:19 craiglincs#12
i have had a quick look, i think the good feature of BJX was the logging off when dura is <= [number]

this helped me in the lab, meant i could leave it in overnight without worrying about my gears
