A friend of mine have a 17" wide screen and he can't play hero cause it have to be at least 768 height. Is there any way to make hero ignore his res ?(1280x720)

there is no way!
The hero client supports only few resolutions (mostly old ones), If u have a flat screen with unsupported resolution u must live with distorted screen.
Choose the next possible lower resolution.

Well, I can't because 1024x768 is the lowest res for hero when you hit option at the launcher.
