How to make FFXI pserver

At first you need FFXI!! So the 14-day trial will do it.

So install the trial.Start POL (PlayOnline) and Select the option for an existing member and Use 1234567 for all the info. Update POL now.

After the Update you need to Update FFXI itself. For this you must download new files. (thanx to flee)

put this new files into the installed FFXI folder and override the old files. Now you are able to Update FFXI.. Go to POL and choose "Check Files" and Select Final Fantasy XI. Let it repair (This takes Hours) and your FFXI is than Updated. After that you need the "data" folder from your Playonline folder, copy this folder in your installed FFXI folder. Your FFXI is now finished.

So now you need ProjektXI and MeteorXI.

For installing ProjektXI you need Mysql and Navicat. Make a database pxidb and execute the sql file in the misc folder. So your Pserver now installed and should be able to start.

Copy the Meteor files in your FFXI folder. (mxi0.7.1 works perfect. mxi 0.8.5 is not so good)

Execute MXI.exe and WOOOW FFXI starts up.

So have fun and start hosting your server :D

So i've got that far (just have to sleep for 10 hours now)
BUT:
I Installed mysql and navicat lite - but I don't really have any idea how i'm supposed to get these to install ProjectXI, do you mind elaborating?

what the difference betwen FF XI Trial 14 day with FF XI Buddy Pass ??

FFXI 14 day trial only lets you play for 14 days free and the ffxi buddy pass lets you play for 30 days free. although you will still need a credit card to make a account just make sure to cancel the IDs before the free trials are over.

Just so no body is confused, it wont be a case of after 14 days you wont be able play, your just getting free trail to download pol.

sooo how do we use navicat exactly? i mean i've never done this for ffxi i did it once with ms before but that was a couple years back

hi.. i did everything that was side at the first post any many others i've found..

i downloaded from cd.. made fake account. downloaded the uploaded file an such to have file checked..

once i got everything set .. i made a id an pw as it was said an the game loaded ok.. i got to the charatar seletion screen ... made a char..

then it said to selet a town then after that it registered my char for that town.. then i got this error right after

error code ffxi-3117
failed to carry out user file operations

then the server closed...

i do have a new error.......

im playing in sandoria... suddenly the music does a horrible sound and my pc restarted.....
i have experimented that in other wprlds and with another chars.....
i experiment this when i try to enter the account again.....after going out a while....
when i just create a ner char nothing happens it happens just when i go out and try to go in again

any idea of what happened??
