Personal Socketing Techniques?

Ok, first off let me state that I am NOT looking for/suggesting socketing TRICKS I have never met spammed before and I want to gather some info before I try. I just want to know everyone's PERSONAL way of met spamming (ie. 18 lvl 10 boots with 18 mets; 20 mets with 2 necklaces; 5 mets a night; etc...). If you could also include the number of sockets you have gotten from the technique you used, I would be very grateful. I personally don't believe in "tricks" but I do believe in cold, hard data so any and all information is welcome. :)


Edit: I should of been clearer. What I am looking for is just plain information. I do not wish to debate on whether or not socketing is all luck or how some special way will guarantee a socket. I have my own personal beliefs and I would just like to know the-

It basically is luck, based on a percentage created through algebraic equations.

Well I realize socketing is mostly luck but I would appreciate it if people would post how they, themselves, met spam. I know there are people that met spam for a living and they have these so-called "tricks" such as coord's and server time. There are numerous threads (and a sticky) stating the coord's and server time of when they recieved a socket from met spamming. I personally believe it's their technique on met spamming that makes them gain a socket. I'm not asking you to believe me or debate this. What I'm asking for is just information.
If you have met spammed successfully then PLEASE post the particular way you met spammed (1 item per met, 20 mets per item, 5 mets per item per night), the regularity of the socketing (about how many mets it takes), and what items you use.

plz read :/ I know there are many, many threads about the server time and coords but I'm not looking for that... I also know there are lucky s.o.b.'s that get soc's from just plain upgrading thier normal equips but I don't care about them. I want to hear a response from someone that met spams on a regular basis and has a uniform way of going about it.

Well.. Just buy 500 mets before you start, then put like 40 met scrolls in tc and 10 in your inventory, gather some normal items from monsters and start upping, when u run out of those items, just buy em from npc. That's how I do/did it ^^. Like 1-3 mets on the 'monster items', then 1 met on each npc item

personaly its all on luck samea s hunting it randomly hunting eg emt spam the more u use the better chance u got of finding somthing met spamming worked for me once the otehr time was pure accident i was just upping my shield in tc and bam soc :rolleyes:

Ok so you normally get around 500 mets before you start and you use 1-3 mets on the items from monsters and 1 met for everyone that you buy from the store? How many mets have you gotten this way and when you buy an item do you buy the same kinda item each time or do you rotate between them?

I bought 20 pairs of lvl 10 boots, stacked under the gaurd next to artisan and spamed 3 on each boots and got a socket on the 30th met

my socks.. i made them by luck.. when i feel lucky i always got socks below 100 mets.. around half of my socks are made below 100 mets didnt care about the time

got sock using one met on elite earring be4

and another on unique ring using around 5 mets

forgot most of them coz i didnt care much
